So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

I am safe and warm inside listening to Christmas songs and cleaning the apartment. Yesterday we were all at work, but there were no professors there. There was a lively spirit of Christmas afoot, despite all the work that we had left to do. Lucia, our cheerful and motherly Portuguese janitor, came by and kissed us all and wished us a merry Christmas. We ended up having an epic snowball fight, which devolved into tackling and throwing heaps of snow on each other. We built a snowman that looks like my adviser and put it outside his office window. We built a snow-dog for the snowman with a little leash made out of ivy. We all walked through piles of snow on empty, glowing roads to Peter's house for dinner. We had spaghetti and garlic bread and salad and hot cocoa. Mark 3 and I went back to work around 10pm to do the rest of our work and I ended up walking home around 1am, the streets lit by the snow-scattered street lamps and the pink sky. I didn't finish all my work, but I decided to call the semester done. The trouble with research compared to school is that it is perpetual, and there is never a denouement when you can relax guilt-free. My wish for this Christmas is that everyone think of the people they love, and think about how they treat those people. Do you constantly point out their failings? Do you constantly berate them for being irresponsible, forgetful, or eating too much? Do you say mean things to them that you would never say to a stranger? Do you make an issue of foolish or awkward things they say in company instead of smoothing them over or letting them go? Do you overreact to harmless things they say? Can't you just tell them how much you love them? Isn't that the most important thing for them to know? Merry Christmas. 4 Comments. That is a very important thing to know on xmas, that you have people that care and love you Sounds like yall had a great snowball fight and yea, its a bit of both i guess, I was hanging around a kinda shady area, but its all to easy to browse around random parts of SL and randomly run into some porn of some sort, it has happen before to me... My class was about getting my School, Marymount University, a SL account. That site can be used for academic purposes, as a number of colleges already use it for, and we're trying to make it so That MU will also use it for those purposes, and so that people who wanna visit the SL site can see what our school is all about, find out about departments, look at classes that'll be offered, have office hours for teachers, etc, and so on » CPKviperpheonix on 2008-12-21 03:10:42 firstly, i wish i lived in RI. The snow sounds delicious. Instead I live in South Texas where snow is often heard about in stories. Secondly, That is a very very good idea to do for Christmas. I try to do it as much as I can but sometimes it's hard to. I know that i'm deffinetely trying with my dad, which will be the hardest thing ever. I second these thoughts. Have a merry merry christmas Miss Z! » Helena on 2008-12-22 07:12:46 Hello to you too! Merry Xmas! » lazypuppy on 2008-12-24 12:17:57 Z!
