I made chocolate chip cookie dough frozen yogurt from scratch, and the recipe is at the bottom of this entry! Nothing major to talk about. I'm turning into some odd strangeness. Healthy eating and sustainability and social justice. I've gone crazy over promoting a healthy body image, and just AH there's so much I would like to do with a psychology degree. Counseling rape victims is something I would love to do. Counseling for eating disorders is another. My big, pie in the sky idea, of course, is to start up a non-profit to provide low-income individuals with mental healthcare, but having the money to do that is HARD, and so there's much to do in the meantime. Peace Corps first, because I started thinking about military and how 1) you need to be in pretty decent health (which maybe I'm not, with the asthma and the joint problems and constant sprains and breaks BLAH BLAH BLAH??), and 2) make love not war? Isn't that a thing? Anyway, I want to go hang out in a Spanish-speaking country and do whatever they need me to. Helping out. I don't understand what a lot of people in this world are going through, but, if they're open to it, of course I'd like to lend a hand with whatever they need help building/learning/treating/obtaining. And Peace Corps helps me do that. Also, Mike posted a status about water usage and I melted, oh my goodness. Our Office of Sustainability at college is pretty awesome--we already installed some water bottle refill stations so that people stop buying Dasani and the like. Other things, too, but this is a big change, because other colleges are starting to eliminate unhealthy vending machine beverages from their machines, and so on. This college should have been the first. People are so health-conscious, around here, and yet we're supplying Coca-Cola products instead of Naked juice. Also, did you guys know that yoga is also a lot less Zen Master Listen to the Ocean and Ponder Deep Things, and a lot more awesome and...well, sexy? !!! Time to try a new exercise! CAN YOU TELL THAT MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION IS TO BUILD MORE MUSCLE?!?!1 It is. My joints suck. My ankles suck. It's time to protect them, because they obviously aren't going to protect themselves. Anyway, it's going to be interesting. Let's go 2013. DAT RECIPE YOU NEED 1C unsalted butter 1C packed dark brown sugar 1/2C granulated sugar 4tsp vanilla extract 2C flour 1/8tsp baking soda (I cut this way down after my recipe was...baking soda-y, so add more if the taste is off) 1/2tsp salt 3/2C milk chocolate chips 2C vanilla yogurt TO DO 1. Combine the first three ingredients in BOWL ONE. Use a mixer if you like your life easy. Mix until it's light and fluffy. 2. Add vanilla to BOWL ONE. Hand mix till combined. 3. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in BOWL TWO. Add chocolate chips, mix again, then add all the contents of BOWL TWO to BOWL ONE. 4. Mix 'em, then add the yogurt and mix until everything is creamy. Freeze for 8-12 hours. 0 Comments.
