Band Grant-In-Aid Scholarship Award Letter
2005-2006 School Year


Amber Breckenridge has been awarded a performance grant in the amount of $1,200. The award will be divided into two parts and placed int he students account for use diring the Fall and Spring semesters. The award is intended to be utilized to defray tuition, room and board and other academically related expenses.

In accepting this offer from Virginia State University(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), I understand that there is a mutual commitment on the part of myself and the institution. Therefore, I agree that afer May 1 of the calendar year of matriculation, I will not consider any other offer from and institutional member of the National Association of Schools and Music for the academic year 2005-2006 except with the express written consent of the music exectutive of the above named institution.

This Performance Grant is renewable for a maximum of four years, with the following stipulations:

(1) The student must maintain an overall Grade Point Average of 2.00 and a 3.00 average in assigned music courses.
(2) The student is executed to participate in a minimum of two ensembles each semester. Ensemble asignments will be made in accordance with the needs of the Department of Music. Pep Band participation does not count as one of the ensembles. (DAYUM!!!!!)
(3) All Performance Grant students (non-music majors) are required to register for Minor Applied Music each semester of matriculation (MUSI 141, 142, 241, 242, 341, 342, 441, or 442).
(4) The student must demostrate good citizenship and not participate in any actions which may reflect negatively on The University.
(5) Students must carry a minimum of 12 semester hours in order to be eligible fo the Performance Grant.

Students who for whatever reason cannot fulfill his or her obligations to the Department of Music and/or University will be removed immediately from the Performance Grant Program, and notice o non-compliance will be sent to the Budget Office and the Office of Financial Aid. The outstanding balance will then become the responsibility of the student.

Enclosed you will find two copies of the award letter. Please sign both copies and return one of the signed copies to the address shown on the next page. You should keep the other copy for your records.
