The good and the bad.
Friday, May 9, 2008
I just came back from the Dance concert at my school.
I'll start with the "bad" parts:
  • I personally went there for the dancing. Also to see my some friends dance. I did not go there for socializing, so the people I went with weren't of much interest to me...so the talk between us was a little strained.
  • This little girl behind me was persistent in kicking my chair, talking [while the performances were going on], and touching me with her fingers (probably accidently). The adult with her probably didn't see this behavior or looked past it.
  • The yells/cat calls/"woohoo"s in between each performance was ok. During the first half. After intermission the intervals between each dance were just unbearable. Friends were screaming at the top of their lungs to the dancers. PEOPLE. YOU COULD JUST TELL THE DANCERS AFTER THE SHOW THAT YOU LOVE THEM.
  • This night tired me out.

The good parts.:
  • The dancing was worth the money I paid. Even though I never doubted the 2 hours of dance wouldn't be worth $5 [Yay for being a student].
  • The slower songs/dances were excellent (but the fast-paced ones were just as good). My preference for dance is the slower tempo type of movement. I just believe that the performers show more soul and emotion than the hip-hop stuff that nowadays mainly involves (from what I see) popping/locking and shaking, it's just not as enthralling as the lyrical dance stuff.
  • The ending of the night was also one of the good parts- oh yeah, besides having a girl in regular dance looking so constipated while she was right in the front. At the end the teacher gave all the performers flowers after they each danced out for a bow.
The Dance Chor. girls [They were the best dancers by FAR. Hahaha, as they should be]came out in some wacky costumes [Except for the seniors. They were just too cool]. One was in a full-body animal suit. The mascot kinds. I did not see what kind of animal it was.
People looked awkward while receiving the flowers.

Must go change. Into comfortable clothing. Tomorrow I will return comments of the previous entry! And POST PICTURES OF DUCKS.

Happy Friday People.

woo!! thank god that 25 bucks "dance" was canceled! I would like the performances but I don't like the fact that people go there to talk their mouths off
