J.D.'s party + Career Day
Friday, April 20, 2007
Yes yes yes, I now will type about Jaclyn's party (April 13, last friday).
BUT FIRST, I shall say what a wonderful day I had at school.

Today was Career Day! We had no PE today . The professions that were exhibited were pretty diverse. There were hairdressers, interior designers, real estate guys, a property manager (I never found out what exactly she does for her work), a criminal defense attorney I think, a chiropractor (ya don't see THOSE everyday), an artist, karate instructors, dental people, medical people (except pharmacists ), a radio talkshow host, and the scantron guy! I believe I've listed about every career that was there. *nods*

It rained today too. Heheh. A whole lot of rain. From the beginning of the school day until the end. The cafeteria was jammed. I got food though...

Okay, I'm ready to tell about Jaclyn's party thing. That day was normal...the only factor that was irregular was that it was Jaclyn's birthday (Yup, it's the Girl-Scout-Jaclyn) and she invited me to her "party" to have "fun coming out of our ears" (Direct quotes). She invited Alyssa Lark (she's pretty cool, we're old friends), Regina T (of course she's cool) and Jennifer C. (she's all right most of the time).

So after the bell rang and I said Byes to friends, I went into the band room where Jaclyn,Regina, and Jennifer clean and hang out afterschool. I said my "Hi"s to them and Alyssa and then stood to the side of the room to wait for Jaclyn or someone to say something to me...since I didn't have anything to say to them. While I waited for Jaclyn to be done, I watched Regina run around in a jumpy/hyperactive way wrapping Jaclyn's present without her seeing.

Jaclyn's sister, Joanna, came around 3:15 to give Jaclyn balloons and boba. Then Jaclyn gave us all a balloon and told us to hold it..a little wierd to give one's birthday balloons to party guests in my opinion.. Alyssa and Regina walked back together to Alyssa's so she could change while I stayed behind. Jaclyn was finally done, so she told me her mom was going to go pick up Alyssa and then drop herself off at their house so Regina, Jaclyn, and Jennifer could change clothes and then they were going to drop me off at my house and wait in front of it so I could change too. (I know, I have bad story-telling skills ).

Alyssa's house was pretty and moderately big. She had two black labs too, but I stayed in the car with Regina and didn't play with them. Next was Jaclyn's house. Alyssa and I played with Kappi (her dog) while they changed. We threw him balls.

Everyone finished changing so we went into the kitchen for some snacks. Geez, you wouldn't believe how many snacks and treats/goodies they had. It was like a candy store...or maybe it's just because my house doesn't have that many candies and I'm exaggerating. <---That would be your face when you're in Jaclyn's home. There's a quaint quality that her home possesses. It's an extremely homey feel; very cozy, snug, and relaxing inside her house.

To get back on track, we were in the kitchen gettting ourselves chocolates. I got a M'nM from Alyssa and Jaclyn kindly offered me a Dove chocolate. I ate it. It was chocolatey. After this, we went to my house and I changed into my black short pants, black tank top and the green shirt I wore on beach day. I took my Yamizaki bag containing my phone and wallet, just in case I needed anything...

The BLOCK @ Orange.A new adventure. I hadn't been to this open air mall in years, so I didn't know what we were going to do. I found out soon enough. Jaclyn took us to Rock N Photo for a group picture. Jaclyn's mom paid for wallet size pics and a 5''x7'' photo for the 5 of us. Her mother is generous.

Numero Uno.This is the place Jaclyn becomes a monster (I understand it's her birthday celebration, but she should still exhibit proper manners and social skills) : Okay, so she had the background for the group photo in her mind all set and ready, but the problem was that the studio didn't use that background anymore and we had to choose an alternate. Jaclyn started pouting a little and saying "Why did they stop using it???!"
*Moan/Groan*
Jennifer Cutlip says, "Jackie, what about this one? It looks pretty too! "
And she points to another star one and then an abstract-looking one.
Alyssa says, " Jackie, how about this one? It looks nice."
Jaclyn: "Nooo, noo. I wanted that star one. "
She disapproves of all of them and only wants the star one they took with Julie [Ngam].
Regina recommends some backdrops. I can't recall which ones she pointed at, but they were shot down by Jaclyn too. Someone points to a flower blossom backdrop and after a few moments of deep thought Jaclyn says, "Okay, fine. I guess that one's ok."

We were led into the choosen backdrop and then told how to pose. I was still the tallest one out of Regina, Jaclyn, Alyssa and Jennifer. . Posing was fun, but my shirt was bulgy in the middle becuase of the zipper.

After photos, Jaclyn lead us to Windsor Clothing, a formal gown store with casual wear too. It was around 4:50 when we got into the store. The first half hour of looking at gowns was boring...that may have been because I didn't really interact with anyone. <---I became a little more relaxed after I scouted the whole place and lost that feeling of being watched + after Alyssa tried to find a dress for me and I "accidently" misplaced it somewhere. Hehe. I didn't want to undress and then RE-dress myself.

I tried to call Saba, but my phone didn't have any bars the first spot I stood at. The second time of dialing, it got through. . She answered with a big,"HELLO?" . HAHAHAHA. I could tell she wasn't expecting any phone calls from me until I got home and finished with the party. All I told her was how dull dress-shopping is with people you don't really want to shop with in the first place (Regina and Alyssa were cool though).

Approximately 5:30 or something, and I looked through the Sale racks. There was a cool jacket, but I have no money. Then I started to find Regina an outfit. I ended up with a "plaid" skirt with a black velvet career top. Regina told me to find a shirt to go under the top, since the top was one of those with a deep V neck and 2 buttons on the waist. I told her "You don't have to wear an undershirt with that. That's how they wear them these days."
"WHAT?!" was her reply.
Hahhahahahahaha.

I forgot what kind of undershirt I picked out, but after I gave the undershirt to Regina I continued browsing through the racks.
5 minutes later, Regina bought a necklace -that was recommended by Jaclyn- on clearance for $1. The necklace was a pretty good deal, even in my world.

It was a little past 6 so we went back to Rock N Photo to look at our pictures and to choose which one we should take home. In all of them I looked ghastly. My idiotic facial expression was not cool. We all had to comply with Jaclyn, but looking at the photo in retrospect...I look decent. After our decision, the guy said to come back in 15 minutes or so to pick up the final product (he had to make the extra wallets and the 5x7s).

Jaclyn and Jennifer went to go get a snack at Auntie Anne's Pretzels. Alyssa, Regina and I detached ourselves and went into Bath and Body Works. We made a good choice. I had fun spraying stuff at Regina and looking at all of their products with Alyssa and Regina. We loitered around in there for almost half and hour and then went on to the store across the way, Papyrus Clothing Co.

Oh goodness me. Papyrus was SO COOL AND GREAT!!!!! Their store had a great ambiance that was welcoming and fun instantaneously. The clothes were mostly all wear-able. Even I would buy and wear some of their pieces. Regina and Alyssa ordered me to pick and choose something to try on, so I happily agreed. Hahahaha, I took photos of what I tried on with my phone so I could show Saba. It was a perfect-fitting red print/patterned cotton dress thing. The only flaw was that it made my arms look like play-doh.

Around 6:30 we had to leave to go get our photos and leave the Block to eat dinner at Pat and Oscar's! The only thing that I didn't like about the Block was that so-called "gangs" that loitered around the open areas. They were a little creepy.

PAT AND OSCAR'S!! THEY HAVE THE BeST BREADSTICKS EVER!! YOU ALL BETTER BELIEVE IT!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I was unbelievably hungry by that point, so it didn't matter what they ordered as long as it got to our table fast. My drink was fruit punch. Our ordered dishes were: Caesar salad, BBQ chicken, BREADSTICKS!!!!, pasta, and cheese pizza. I ate lots of breadsticks, a small serving of salad (so I'd have room for more breadsticks), no pasta (I don't like it), and 2 pieces of cheese pizza. The only negative thing that happened at dinner was when Jennifer was trying to tell a story and Jaclyn never let her finish.

After dinner, I was stuffed. We drove back to Jaclyn's house. I had lots of merriment with Alyssa and Regina. I sat in the middle row with Alyssa and Regina, Jennifer, and Jaclyn sat in the back of the van.

Arrived back at Jaclyn's House, watched some tv and chilled. Hannah Montana sang this new song. I was making fun of her (and her singing) in my head. We ran to Jennifer's house to get her. She was wrapping Jaclyn's present. We came back in time for Regina's show...CSI. It was an old episode so we decided to open presents.
2nd time she becomes unruly.
Alyssa's was a $20 giftcard to blockbuster and a funny card. "But I don't GO to Blockbuster!!," said Jaclyn. "You do now!" said Alyssa in retaliation. Jaclyn was also a little rude to Alyssa on the car rides to and fro the Block.

Regina's was a $25 giftcard to Barne's and Noble and notecards. "I don't go to Barne's and Noble! I like Amazon[.com] better."
"Well sorry! I don't know how to get a giftcard from Amazon." Said Regina.

Jennifer's present was a 6pack of sodapop shower gel and a funny card. "I told you to get me the necklace! I don't really need shower gel."
I forgot how Jennifer replyed. And then Jaclyn's mom said, "Maybe she's trying to say something..." Hahaha. THen we passed around the bottles of shower gel to smell.

Then Regina asked me where my present was. I said I didn't know.
"Jaclyn, did you leave Irene's present in the band room?"
*Stunned silence*
"AHHH!!! Oh my god, oh my god! YES I did!!" *Hits herself on the forehead*
And then she did something else which I can't recall. Then she said sorry I think. I said it's ok.

Yet again, she becomes a little insatiable.
After a few moments, Jaclyn asked her mom in this innocent , childish voice "Did you get the double layered chocolate cake I wanted??"
"No, I only got a single layered one..."
I think Jaclyn contorts her face into a pityful expression or something and then sighs/groans/grumbles "OKay."

We watch some parts of Ella Enchanted. I didn't like any of it, not even the singing..maybe it was because I didn't like the book. <----my facial expression.

After approximately 35 minutes of that, we swtiched to DDR. I was thinking, "Okay, something I can have a little fun at." As a matter of fact, I did.
I beat Regina a few times, watched a few games and played one or two more songs.

At 9:30 PM my mother came to pick me up. Said my goodbyes and thank-yous to everyone and left. My gluttonous side was thinking "Why didn't she give me a piece of cake? I WAS a guest at her party." Hahaha, yes my greed is overwhelming.

The night of the party I got a few ideas...

Since I wasn't 100% satisfied with my photo with Jaclyn and them, I should do a photo with my own close group of friends/an excursion to the Block. We (Saba, Jenifer H, Sherry and I...maybe some other people) could go to Rock N Photo and I'd treat them to the photos (since I wanted to do it) and I would take everyone's opinion into consideration before choosing the backdrop. And when we walked around, it would be an actual LINE of people instead of having a detached person walking behind the main people. An absolute necessity is the Papaya clothing store; that boutique-y place makes me merry.

Yup. That's just an idea that could be carried out on Memorial Day weekend or June 15/16.

**My recollection of Jaclyn's party may not be fully correct, since we do not have another perspective. And all in all, it was okay. On the Monday of the following week she gave me a piece of birthday cake.

***I'm sorry if this post seems too long.
