There have been a bunch of things that I could write about, but I just read an e-mail that has left me sitting here feeling something for which there isn't a word. Seemingly out of nowhere, I got an e-mail from my mom that says she's going to give me space and to call or e-mail her whenever I want to talk about anything. The last line was a short and sweet "make sure you take care of yourself and remember that I love you." Man, reading that just kinda hit me like whoa. I didn't have a fight or anything with my mom. Her e-mail makes it sound like I fought with her and didn't want to talk to her or have her so close in my life. I know that I've steadily been changing (or "evolving" as I like to think of it), but what am I doing that's making my mom feel she needs to give me space? I dunno, perhaps I'm reading into it too much and she's simply saying that she's letting me go in the sense of going out on my on as all kids eventually have to do. It just struck me in an odd way, and made me feel really uneasy. 2 Comments.
