Sunday. 7.4.04 4:53 pm This weekend was good times. Friday started off kinda annoying since I had to work for an amazing four hours. Everything was fine, though, until shortly after Corey came in, when Karen decided it would be a good time to start bitching about everything and basically said Corey and I aren't allowed to work together (wtf?). I also enjoyed learning all these little rules that I was never told before. For example, Karen tells me I could be fired on the spot for ringing up myself, family members, and even friends. In theory, I understand why, but in reality, I really could not give less of a fuck about it. Then, I asked off for this past weekend since I was hanging out with Dave and Amy and hittin up the free concert, etc., and I also asked off for thursday, because I thought that was when my mom has her appointment in Hershey (which is actually on wednesday). Well, I was originally scheduled thursday and whenever else, but Karen had to re-do the schedule anyway since Christen can't work, we have a new ass. manager, etc...anyway, I check the schedule and see I'm down for a whopping 5.5 hours this week. That is awesome! I love it. So, needless to say, it was a fun 4-hour work day. I think I would actually enjoy getting fired from that place. I'd go out of my way to accomplish that, if I weren't dealing with the same old lack of hours/money shit from my other job. It's sad that I have two jobs and I'm still not making a decent amount of money. After that shizcrap, I came home and got my shit together to head up to Dave's for the weekend. I met up with dave at the Acorn market in Canton, then we sat inside for a while until Amy showed up and took us up to the cabin. We basically spent the night chillin out, playin music, etc. I passed out, and ended up being awake at 8-something, so I got up and showered and sat around for a bit, but just ended up goin back to sleep for a while until Dave and Amy woke up. Once we were all up and ready to go, we went up to Vinnie's in Troy and had pizza, then went back to Amy's house to meet up with Grant to head up to Buffalo. Amy didn't end up going, so it was Dave, Grant and me that went up for the concert. We didn't have any problems getting there or back, so that was a definite plus. The concert was outside in the public square, and we had an awesome view of the stage from about 30 yards away. I must say, Ben Folds is absolutely amazing! It was just him on piano, but it was so awesome. He got the crowd involved, half sang the sax part while the other sang the trumpet part in "Army", and we also sang along to another song I'm forgetting at the moment. He was so damn good, I was so glad I was there. After he was done, we decided to head out into town to get some food (rather than pay $7 for a hot dog), so we left and wandered around Buffalo while Rufus Wainright was playing (none of us were sad to miss it). We ended up getting a huge Sicilian pizza for about $10.50, and it was very good. We headed back not too long before Guster came on. Guster's drummer is a monster. He was fun to watch, but the band itself is uber-boring. They sound good, don't get me wrong, but there's nothing to them. I can easily picture guys that whine a lot and mellow females being really into them. They're not bad, just not entertaining. None of us were into their set, so we left a bit early and beat a ton of traffic. We got back to Amy's house around 2am, and once again I passed out and woke up fairly early (I think 10-something). We kinda hung out and ended up playing music again since Amy's mom loves people who play guitar. Heh, and for the third meal in a row, I had something pizza-related--Amy's mom made breakfast pizzas, which were really good. Around noon, I went outside and saw the "freedom ride", which is a ton of motorcycles driving through the area on the fourth of July. I've never seen so many motorcycles in my life. Shortly after that, Amy drove Dave and me back to the cabin where I showered, got my crap together, and then we headed down to the Acorn once again to meet my mom and head home. It was definitely a good weekend, and an awesome Ben Folds concert (with some other people that I wasn't too excited by). 1 Comments. hehe
