A moment of reflection...
Tuesday. 3.16.04 11:41 pm
I finally went somewhere and did something on break. I found oot what it's all aboot in Toronto, Ontario Canada for Spring Break '04. Woo! It was definitely fun times. Niagara Falls sucked the first time we crossed the border cuz the weather was shit-tastic, but we stopped on our way back through and it was much better (aside from freezing our asses off, but it happens). The hotel wasn't as nice as they presented it online and such, but it wasn't too bad. It was downtown, so it was at least in a good location in relation to interesting things around the city. Heh, it's funny though, whenever anyone asks what we did in Toronto...we hardly did anything, per se. We saw the CN tower (world's largest free-standing structure) and got monetarily ass-raped just to ride an elevator 110 stories and look out of the windows. Oh well. I threw out the idea of going to the museums, but we were too lazy and didn't get around to them in time. So, of things we actually did do, The sketch comedy show was a big highlight of the trip. The Sketchersons were hilarious. Some Highlights:

-(Celeb Spelling Bee) Clay Aiken: "onomatopoeia, o-n-a...h-o-m-o...i-p-e-e-o-n, onomatopoeia."
10 yr. old Spelling champ: "You just spelled 'on a homo I pee on!'"
-News: "Martha Stewart was convincted on four charges: Obstructing Justice, Lying to investigators, Inside Trading, and...Count Chocula!
2nd Anchor: What?
1st: "Vampires!...Marshmallows! You said I needed a 4th count..."
-Paul Del Rio. You had to have been there...

On a random note, there must've been some sort of extreme sports festival in Toronto the first few days we were there, because there were a ton of guys with bikes and skateboards in our hotel, as well as in the bars. I actually recognized a couple of the guys that were around, one of them being Dennis McCoy, of pro BMX fame (who competed with guys like Dave Mirra, etc.). I'm such a tool. I saw him in the hotel bar the first night, then saw him again in Mick E. Fynn's a couple nights later, but of course I pussied out and didn't go meet the guy. Ho well, at least I knew who he was.

Speaking of bars, it was fun being able to drink legally. Man, we had the craziest shot the one night: a rocky mtn. bear fucker = Jack Daniels + Tequila + Southern Comfort. Good God, tasted like lighter fluid on the way down. After that we had that tasty Polar Bear shot that tastes like a York Peppermint Patty.

There's more stuff, but I'm gettin tired of writing. I think I'll just end with a humorous fragment of a post-dinner conversation on the way home.

-"How was your veal?"
"Eh, it was ok. I think they let it walk around a little." - Me
