i wanna be on the hall of fame! (click ->) []
to get your name up here, read the subject of the latest entry. it's a line from a song, with one word replaced. if you find out which word it is, the name of the song, and who performed it, comment on the post and you'll be added.

for example, if a subject was "slap me baby one more time," you'd know that the real lyrics are "HIT me baby one more time," so you'd comment on the entry saying:

"oh master rick, ruler of mankind! i, your humble servant, have found the true lyrics to the song. HIT, from the song ONE MORE TIME by BRITNEY SPEARS. i only pray that you will show great mercy and bestow upon my worthless self a single point and a mention in the sacred hall of fame. gramercies, oh omnipotent one!"

and i would do just that.

mood: wow ...

04.29.04

well tonight was opening night. things were hectic, mics weren't getting signals, spools were lost, and sandwiches were nowhere to be found, but in the end it all pulled together.

let's see. i'm gonna copy dan's xanga a bit ...

ciara (marcie) - good job on not laughing during the cartoon boxes (they're like slaves!). that would have been bad. great job also on book report. oh, and thanks for letting me use your mic. you were great.

tracy (pep) - great job on book report ... you got all your lines! and good job on the a capella part. thanks for giving me my starting note.

david (schroeder) - nice energy! can't believe you're only a freshman, dude. keep up the good work!

linden (violet) - i love your drawing today on my bag. also, good job on book report as well. my aunt really liked your voice.

dan (snoopy) - oh my god dan, my little siblings loved suppertime. like david said, suppertime would either make or break the performance, and tonight it made it. he said it in some ghetto talk too; quite humorous.

jeff (linus) - i couldn't get enough about how great of a character linus was. my mom said you looked and acted like a real kid, and after the show she saw how tall you were and was surprised.

amanda (lucy) - despite your loss of voice, you pulled it through. great job on little known facts as well. my mom said you also looked like a kid onstage. my little cousin nadine (the one that looks like shirley temple) said her favorite character was the "crabby girl".

kelly anne (sally) - thanks for letting me use your mic too. i feel like such a moocher ... i mean, i AM a moocher when it comes to food, cell phones, rides home, but mics? good job kelly anne, my sister loved you.

esther, shannon, and sammy (woodstock, harriet, olivier) - good energy today too. my little brother and sister said you guys were like real birds (at least they knew you were birds and not tourists). nice harmony on glee club as well.

also thanks to cathy for getting my props, nikki and misty for being awesome stage people, matt and lauren for putting up with my mic problems, and jean for running across the gym (i saw your flip flops on the gym floor) just to switch mics for me.

see? that wasn't exactly like dan's. i talked to them instead of about them!

well we're going to kick some ass tomorrow. if you're reading this before two o'clock on sunday, get your lazy ass off of the computer chair and go watch the show!

ahhh! today's show was sooo great! good energy, no mess ups, fantastic audience, no stress at all. plus we were being filmed, which was great too. i want all shows to be like tonight's was, if not better. soooo many people came today, and there will be more tomorrow.

05.01.04
ah shiet. turns out yesterday that they didn't film the whole thing. so pissed off. that show was good too. well the guy says he's gonna film tomorrow for free. pshaw whatever. if we do crappy tomorrow i'm gonna be soooo pissed.

holy what hella drama today. i mean drama drama, not performing drama. people were yelling, getting pissed, crying ... i'm not at liberty to say why, but i felt kinda bad because i was unaffected by all the poop that was going on around me. like, i'm sitting there all happy-go-lucky while other people were getting teary eyed. bianca says i have a staring problem. she says i stare at people who cry too much. whatever.

well the show turned out okay, some people thought it was better than yesterday's, but i think the mics were being crappy again so in my opinion yesterday's show was still the best. plus my singing today was total crap, i'm starting to lose my voice. and my kite flew into the pit and hit alex. whoops.

then there was a cast party at sammy's house. no spin the bottle this time () but it was still fun. foosball was crazy (sorry for screaming into your ear esther) and karaoke was interesting. now i have "the sign" by ace of base stuck in my head.

i saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes, i saw the sign ...

dan was so right. i'm going to be singing that shiznat tomorrow y0. all day. nonstop. because that song is so catchy, and it reminds me of "full house".

05.02.04

oh. my god.

i thought yesterday was bad. today was chock full of emotional distress. i mean, it's bad enough that it's the last show for a lot of the seniors (which is emotional as it is), but to have traditions taken away, people getting yelled at because in 1986 their asses were being wiped while others were playing in the pit and upholding a "tradition of excellence" (isn't that the slogan for a tortilla company or something?), people getting kicked off of the production on the last night, other crew members walking out ... ho-ly-fuck. it was sooo hectic. with crew members gone, the remainder of the crew and cast had to think up a solution quick before the house opened.

amazingly, we pulled it off. sure there was a lack of manpower, sure there was a LOT of tension among everyone, sure there were tears, but holy shit, we pulled it off. i have to say, that had to be the best show we've done. honestly. all that bullpoopie brought everyone together and we were determined to make it happen for the audience. i mean, without the drama, this would have been a great performance. but considering the circumstances, we were phenomenal.

wow. this is an experience i am going to remember for the rest of my life. or until alzheimers kicks in.

I'd agree
the show was great... Too bad the camera wasn't on for the second half of it.
