i wanna be on the hall of fame! (click ->) []
to get your name up here, read the subject of the latest entry. it's a line from a song, with one word replaced. if you find out which word it is, the name of the song, and who performed it, comment on the post and you'll be added.

for example, if a subject was "slap me baby one more time," you'd know that the real lyrics are "HIT me baby one more time," so you'd comment on the entry saying:

"oh master rick, ruler of mankind! i, your humble servant, have found the true lyrics to the song. HIT, from the song ONE MORE TIME by BRITNEY SPEARS. i only pray that you will show great mercy and bestow upon my worthless self a single point and a mention in the sacred hall of fame. gramercies, oh omnipotent one!"

and i would do just that.

THE verdict was returned
Sunday. 03.14.04 12:49 am
mood: relieved.

well, if you haven't read my edit, the whole thing was resolved. i'm happy. we're friends again.

"make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and other's gold." ahh, elementary school nostalgia.

okay. well, on to other news. progress reports came in today. parental units freaked out about the b- in pre calculus. my mother was contemplating about whether or not she should call my teacher and ask what was wrong.

< sigh >

her justification was that a B- is almost a C. gasp! oh, no! you mean your son is almost average?! hurry, stock up on the canned goods, the world is going to end!

...

you know, we students never get to grade our teachers. well here at nutang, i have the chance to. here goes ...

PROGRESS REPORT
teachers

subject: mr. quach
comments: he used to be nice, but lately he's been quite irratable. but it's not entirely his fault; stupid brian pisses him off all of the time. oh wow, brian, you're so cool because you squirted the squirt bottle while mr. quach was looking. grow up. so i guess he has justification for his recent behavior, i just hope he didn't put it out on the rest of the class.
grade: B

subject: mr. petersen
comments: nothing really here. he's not uber cool, but he's not bad either. makes the occasional humorous comment, which brought his grade up from a C to a ...
grade: C+

subject: mr. tenerowicz
comments: here is the model pe teacher. he's lenient enough that we don't HAVE to do anything during pe, but he's also respected enough we wait until he dismisses us before we leave. i usually use this period to study for english, and hey, he still gave me an A. do unto others ...
grade: A

subject: ms. leung
comments: it's kind of hard to be unbiased here, since she's my director and all, and she gave me the lead in the play, but i'll try. umm, she's a great director, but as a teacher, she's okay. a little on the disorganized side, but she makes up for it by allowing us to turn in make-up work months late.
grade: B-

subject: mr. jackson
comments: by far THE coolest english teacher i've ever had. even though he gives lots of homework, he's still a lot better than ms. price seems to be. and ms. price cut in front of me in the food faire, so more points for mr. jackson. plus, he talks a lot about sex and phallic symbols.
grade: A

subject: ms. solis (soon to be mrs. riste)
comments: a very very large step up from adambitchkova. she is sooooo nice. i love her. and i'm so happy for her that she got engaged. she's such a great person, not to mention a great teacher. she's so much more organized (i mean, she has the freaking agenda on the board ready to go a day before) and she teaches like she actually knows the stuff.
grade: A+

and there's the progress report. hope you enjoyed. and remember to keep playing ¡el juego de helicóptero!

edit: originally, i made another entry for today. but i didn't want it to upstage this little entry, so i'll just combine the two.

mood: jealous

i want ciara's mom to adopt me.

anyways. today was a work day for the musical, so i went to built the set. except, i really didn't do anything. like, everyone was doing their shiz with the power tools and whatnot, and i was just kinda like sitting there, not knowing what to do. well, okay, i did help a little. i walked around, moved stuff around, and paper mached the tree. i wish i knew how to use power tools.

so afterwards i went over ciara's house. well, no, actually, first i went to costco with ciara and her mom. it was really fun, i talked a lot about stuff. her mom is like a psychiatrist, seriously.

then i went to her house, but her mom went out, so it was just me and ciara. her grandpa was downstairs. so we sang a little karaoke, we danced a little cha-cha, i tripped on her rug and fell on my ass, and we made some brownie / cream cheese stuff which, amazingly, turned out pretty good.

it was really sort of an eye opener to what life is like outside of my house. like, i felt like i wasn't suffocated by my parents, i could just breathe freely. her life is so laid-back. i'm so jealous.

well, until the adoption papers are settled, i'll just have to live here. < sigh >

and i have hella homework to do. three chapters of wuthering heights, vocabulary list, and a one page paper on the patterns i see in my vocabulary list. and that's just english. i have to do all of that without my parents knowing. they would get pissed if they found out i didn't do my homework before going out.

i already miss ciara's house, and it's only been thirty minutes since i left.
