Just so happens that my class (i call it the happiness class) requires us to do a project about our reflected best selves. Kind of like a learning experience through stories from others when you added value in their lives.

Instead of focusing on weaknesses, the exercise wants to bring out the strengths in us, because their view is that developing strengths are more important than trying to limit our weaknesses. Just like how a striker should just focus on scoring more goals than trying to defend.

I must say it was a humbling lesson because it makes you realise that you're contributing something to people's lives just by leading your life. And it serves as a reference point for where I currently am at with regards to the person that I want to become. For instance, I found that I value relationships with people and family, which is something that I was concerned with (not the evil banker). At the same time, it makes me even more motivated to continue what I'm doing.

After writing a somewhat gloomy letter to the shareholders a month ago, I think I have found a perfect pick-me-up to guide me through the rest of the semester and hopefully a clearer direction in life.

ps: the report does sound a little like it could be used for a dating agency or something hahahaha

After 1 and a half semester later, my Mapp test results are out. Thankfully, the delay was justified because they arranged for a career counselor from the school to go through the report with me.

Don't think I really learnt much new things about myself, but at least it reaffirms what I previously thought. Also provided me with a few other career angles I could consider.

Anyway, the report says i'm somebody that thrives on change and a big picture person. It then went on to reiterate that I hate mundane and routine activities and prefer looking at stuff as a whole rather than details. It also put me as a more right brain person and do better with relationships with people.

Some suggested career paths: trade management, health physics (what??!), consulting (this is interesting), teaching, training, sales engineering, promotion, journalism.

It was an enjoyable session, at least it didn't tell me I should be a nurse (unlike what some personality test said). The counselor also gave reasons why I may not do well in sales even though I'm more people oriented which I thought was quite true.

Oh well, some food for thought over the weekend. Till next time.

Attended my cousin's wedding last night, lovely dinner at Furama Riverfront Hotel. Met up with extended family and was introduced to a few that I've only met back when I was a baby.

Time flies. Her sister and her were the closest cousins I had on my father's side. We particularly loved to disturb her elder sister and other cousins. I think we got along so well was because we were born in the same year.

She gave me a big hug when I left, in turn I gave one to her husband to welcome him to the family. I hope they have a beautiful life together, congrats couz!

greetings from bangalore. Having a great time here so far. People are very hospitable, the traffic is crazy but like i always say, there is order in chaos.

First official visit to the childrens home today, they sang some songs for us and gave us garlands and cards they made. We also played some games like dog and bone with them. Ended off with a really interesting game called kho kho, which is kind of like strategic "chasing". Tiring but fun.
