The Sturdy Little Gourd.
Every fall the Sweet Voiced Lady gave everyone she worked with a gourd to decorate their desk or office with. When she came to the desk of the Snot Nosed Brat, the brat looked at the gourds wondering where she'd put the thing to begin with. The Snot Nosed Brat decides on a white, yellow and green mini pumpkin. Later on she was offered to mar her gourd with nail polish so it wouldn't rot. The Snot Nosed Brat didn't care if it rotted or not so she declined.
Days passed...weeks passed and the Sturdy Little Gourd was passed around from place to place on the Snot Nosed Brat's desk finally landing in the comfortable position of a paper weight for her inbox. It could hear its colleagues and friends dying off around it wondering when it would be next. It would not give up though. After all it was a sturdy little gourd and believed that it could live forever.
Months have passed now and the sturdy little gourd is still the paper weight for the Snot Nosed Brat's inbox. It no longer has a nice deep green anywhere on its body and has changed to a pleasant white and orange color. While it's happy to still be around the Snot Nosed Brat is wondering why she ever had to pick this gourd and when it will ever get soft so she can justify throwing it away.
The Snot Nosed Brat is obviously me and the Sweet Voiced Lady is a co-worker who really does give us a gourd to brighten up our office/cubical space every year. It's been 4-5 months since I got the damn thing and it's still around. I don't want to throw it away and yet it's well past fall. I think my gourd is possessed, just another reason to keep it until it goes bad. How else could it still be around?

LOL! I don't think gourds do rot that fast. Most of the time they just dry up. The shape would still be there just that the colour would be in the shade of brown.

Well, to tell you the truth, I dont really need it, just that the extra cash is nice to use. I'm still in college anyway, so I can say that I dont really"really" need the job
