Ichi nichi.
So I'm finally taking a beginners Japanese conversation class. It's actually very small since it's an adult ed. class at night. It will last for 8 weeks and there are only 8 students, including my husband and myself. The teacher informed us that what we're learning is what kindergartners and 1st graders learn in Japan. Considering the class is only 2-1/2 hours long I'm surprised at how much I've learned. Because we learned about onegai shimasu and how to properly use the term, like when ordering something, I waited until after class to ask about what my Japanese "friend" told me. He said if ordering something like wanting a glass of water the best term would be "O mizu wo itadake masuka?" It's the most polite way, which is usually what he likes to teach me. Another polite way is "O mizu arimasuka?" When I asked her if "O mizu wo itadake masuka?" was still appropriate her eyes grew big and she said that it's a very formal way and not something if you were in a regular restaurant. <_<;; I'm still have problems with my r sounds. I make the r too strong and when I try not to I tend to roll the r and put a Spanish spin on it. XD
Right now it's a love/hate relationship. There are two girls in the class, one is in junior high and one in high school. They are annoying, so very annoying. The teacher passed around a book that had a lot of different stories in it that she uses when teacher younger students. The first story was with Mr. Toad. If you don't know Mr. Toad is a Disney character and if you've been to Disneyland then you can go on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. When I said something about it the younger girl made a comment about how she didn't know who that was. I told her that it's a character from like the 80's or something. She then rolled her eyes and said, "Well I'm only 13." Yeah I felt like ringing her neck. Is ignorance ever a valid excuse, especially when it's based on your age?
So my husband and I have been watching Shugo Chara. The summary didn't say anything about it being a magical girl series. I like Su the best, but the blue egg has the best magical girl outfit and the fact someone else is trying for world domination. It's a knock off of the Care Bear Stare though, the magical girl changes and the plot shouldn't take more then 25 episodes, but does pretty much sucks. And why hasn't Amu figured out yet that if she just does the Care Bear Stare she will win? Why try anything else? It kind of reminds me of DBZ too since her friends are a worthless group. I think tonight we'll try a different anime since Amu is driving me a bit crazy. My husband has realized what I felt like when I watched Naruto though and stupid Sakura. Complete waste of space. Bring in the obviously in the closet gay guy and kill the dumb girl off! (You know the guy that wears a half shirt, skin tight clothes and makes fun of Naruto's penis size. XD)
Wow... wow... wow... I would really love to attend Japanese classes... but that has to wait.. I have to start working first... Good luck with not ringing the teenager's necks... They sound extremely annoying.

heh i'd have expected the teacher to be impressed that you know something other than what she taught you, but i guess some teachers are like that: too full of themselves to admit a student is actually good =_=;; and as for that 13 yr old... man, just ignore her... what an idiot x_x;;
haha as for overtime, no i dont get paid overtime because it's shifts that we sign up for really ^^;; same rate of pay @_@;; i guess they could say, if we werent up for it, we shouldn't have signed up for the shift (altho in my case i was roped into doing a morning one x_x) but at least i got fed 3 meals by them x]
