I am reading this right now http://www.nutang.com/numazon/0765340771/The+Butlerian+Jihad+%28Legends+of+Dune%2C+Book+1%29/ I would have provided you an image if I could but The thingy is broken (as usual) I am actually not enjoying this book. It's very predictable and I can't relate to charecters this stupid. I enjoyed the Origianl dune and Dune Messiaha, but the charecters in Jihad are very shallow, uncomplicated and predictable, Unlike the dynamic and stirring charecters in Herbert Seniors work. Jihad also lacks the subtley, intracasy and detailed ambiance of the Seniors work. What I am enjoying is reading about the "thinking machines" empire. Machines can be creative btw. I like strategey games especially ones where I can drop my troops to any position on the globe from orbit. And especially when I'm the only one with the technology to do it. And of courses, I Usually keep a strangle hold on this technology because I'm bombarding the hell out of everyone else. Thats right folks, I'm a fan of planatery conquest and invasion. I like working my way down penisulas, and literally driving my enemys into the sea with firepower at least two hundred years ahead of anyone elses. If I need help I will give one of my neighbors usefull technology so they can watch my back while I concentrate on keeping the fight going.  | If I had money Thursday. 3.9.06 4:16 pm Well it's no secret I would like to build a spaceship... actually I wouldn't mind building an entire habitat in the Earth/ Moon Lagrange point. Hopefully it could sustain itself by mineing asteroids are pulling ice and mateiral off the moon. Nuclear reactors might be nice... but I digress. You could look at this and say, "Oh how poetic a city in the stars." or you miht just think it sucks. The latest issue of scientific America talks about radiation shielding, and I'm bringing this up now because the next 11 year solar cycle is going to be intense. about a 50% increase in solar activity and the strength of solar flares ect. It's going to be bad. The likelyhood of building a city betwixt the earth and moons gravitational influence is already scant because, as it is, NASA promises only three shuttle launches a year. That is why I look longingly at the independent AeroSpace companies that are cropping up now a days. Space X in particular looks promiseing. If only i had the money or the edjucation in the corectt feild to get involved. But hey thats why i buy physics books because if I study a subject an hour a day for three years I will be an expert. .. right? hopefully. on the more mundane front I think I may have strep throat... and I found out this morning that Tricare no longer covers me. :-( 0 Comments.
