Superior human beings
currently enjoying
I am reading this right now
http://www.nutang.com/numazon/0765340771/The+Butlerian+Jihad+%28Legends+of+Dune%2C+Book+1%29/
I would have provided you an image if I could but The thingy is broken (as usual)

I am actually not enjoying this book. It's very predictable and I can't relate to charecters this stupid. I enjoyed the Origianl dune and Dune Messiaha, but the charecters in Jihad are very shallow, uncomplicated and predictable, Unlike the dynamic and stirring charecters in Herbert Seniors work. Jihad also lacks the subtley, intracasy and detailed ambiance of the Seniors work.

What I am enjoying is reading about the "thinking machines" empire.
Machines can be creative btw. Here is an interesting link that I'm sure will be required reading when our machine overlords rest control of the planet from us.

Otherwise I can't really, with a good heart, reccomend this book. It's just too dumb.Herbert Junior should have spent a little more time on this one. But hey it's here and features creepy robots and cyborgs so I shant complain.
thoughts
I like strategey games especially ones where I can drop my troops to any position on the globe from orbit. And especially when I'm the only one with the technology to do it. And of courses, I Usually keep a strangle hold on this technology because I'm bombarding the hell out of everyone else. Thats right folks, I'm a fan of planatery conquest and invasion. I like working my way down penisulas, and literally driving my enemys into the sea with firepower at least two hundred years ahead of anyone elses. If I need help I will give one of my neighbors usefull technology so they can watch my back while I concentrate on keeping the fight going.

Although I am still hacking up various forms of mucus, I think the worst has passed. I had a very bad fever last night and for the past few days, breakfast was water and cold pills. Fantastic. I have various take home quizes and such.

I'll also be writing a paper on what the Germans did to the Herrero in South Africa.... with their maxim machine guns. gosh those Germans and their genocidal ways :-D

Shadow child will be posted soon. Im actually starting to take the writing serioustly with a ten page a day minimum. Well ten pages allowing for other work. I shouldn't like it if I flunked a college course just to get published. that would be terrible.

anyhow here is an excerpt from shadow child. just a small one but one to wet your appetite until a major post.

Finally, she saw what the other had driven her north for. It was north of Lui a vast expanse of fallen trees. The trees looked knocked over, as if a wanton child had kicked them down. On the outskirts of this narled woodland treaded gigantic shadows. Some of them were as tall as houses, and they moaned deeply as they passed amongst the dead trees. “This is your legacy,” Vermilion said quietly within her mind. She moved forward out into the open, half afraid these gigantic shadows would consume her as the ones in the dream had.

They stopped. The Shadows starred a moment before stepping aside and taking a knee. They made unearthly cries to each other , and soon more arrived taking their places next to those monsters that had already knelt before her. A part of Amelia, the one that was still Ciams brother wanted to flee this place and never return, but it was to late for that. She knew that if she turned back the creatures would fall on her, and feed. Now they were subservient, perhaps because they sensed Vermillion, perhaps because they knew what she was to become. What she was to become, the thought frightened her but still she pressed on; clinging to life or what would be left of it.

as she passed each dark unliving giant rose to its feet. The smaller ones followed her darting about the skeletal trees while the larger ones lumbered behind. Untill she found a great depression in the ground. It looked like a crater only polished and tiled. One of the smaller shadows, a man sized one with milky eyes steped in front of her so suddenly she almost let out a cry. It gestured slowly, that she should descend.

Vermillion was silent for all of this. Had he been holding counsel with these creatures? How intimately did he know them. “ I made them, “ he said. “They were my soldiers once, they still are…. They will be yours, too.”

For the person that the villan is named after, more of a victim turned villan if you ask me, this is not biographical. Obviously. This is where the Shadow child gets the army you don't see through most of the book, it's wear she reawakens the power of the other world.

Oh well going to go hack up some more of my lungs. :-D or lay down or something.

I can't wait till thanksgiving.
