Great Weekend
Monday, Jan 28, 2008
seems like i've been neglecting this blog again. nvm, no one reads it anyway.

my 23rd bday came and went, without any celebration whatsoever. got a polo ralph cologne fr gcb and the rest of the 850 gang for my present, and various other sms bday wishes fr frens. to those who rmbred, thanks. others who did not, nvm, cos i also dont rmbr everyone's bday. anyway, im back today just to record down some stuff that made my previous weekend, quite fun and enjoyable, i should say.

to start with, all this while that i have been away, my life is still the same old work, sleep, eat, workout, play games and watching downloaded shows; though i dont really play so much games now, gotten kinda sick of both dota and wolfteam liao, haha... rather, i've been busy watching mobtv~watching all those old mediacorp chinese dramas that i missed or reminisced watching during my youth. and no, i did not actually go subscribe to mobtv...the password and user account to watch all the programs was courtesty of gcb, who got it out of some stupid fren of his who had subscribed, and was actually dumb enough to tell gcb the userid and pw, which was in turn spread to everyone in our clique of frens via gcb. lol.

anyway, back to my enjoyable weekend. saturday started with going in to jb with al, sebast and another fren. although we went there to eat and shop as usual, we didn't get much time to do either, since we got there too late, we ended up catching stallone's latest flick, rambo 4.

its really one hell of a show, i'll say. even though its a short 90 mins, maybe less, its still highly rated. its realistic, plus the action is damn shiok, esp the final battle scene. its a great movie, for both fans or non-fans of the 80's rambo trilogy, and i just so happen to be a fan too.

its not for the faint hearted though, cos there's more than the usual score of blood and gore in this installment. stuff like rambo physically tearing out his opponent's throat in single combat, eviscerating the burmese army commander with his bigass combat knife, and making mincemeat out of the burmese army with a .50 cal anti-material mounted mg will make some cringe. not me of course, i thought it was really shiok. seriously, i dont mind watching it again. heck, im even thinking of getting the dvd and watching all the blood and gore fight scenes in slow-mo..haha.

anyway, after the show, we rushed back to singapore, cos al was playing in the chong pang basketball cup, where they got matched up against whye nam sports club in the first round, and ended up getting owned 83-46. lppl la really, since whye nam was too strong.. they had this ang moh centre fr france who's like 2m tall, and 2 national players..even al, who could jump the highest amongst all of us, got rejected by the ang moh, leng leng. said ang moh even made a reverse dunk near the end of the match also.

after the match and dinner at some coffee shop in chong pang, we made our way to safra for ktv, and had a great time singing and fooling ard.

sunday started out with a workout at my local gym with fatass. after gym we made our way to suntec together with gcb and al to do some shopping and have dinner, which was carl's junior at marina sq~fatass's favourite cholestrol and protein laden fast food joint. i think the person clearing our table after we were done must have thought we were monsters, since between the 4 of us, we consumed a total of 8 beef patties; gcb had a single, al and me double and fatass triple, 4 boxes of chilli cheese fries, and four large drinks. lol. great pro meal, as fatass would say.

our after dinner shopping was quite sad, cos even though i planned to buy shoes, clothes and trg gear, i ended up with only a strength trg glove for gym. usual suspects like budget, lack of sizes, unappealing designs, blah blah contributed to our failed shopping trip.

nvm, we took a cab to arab street afterwards and had our first taste of shisha! but not for fatass, who ald tried the poison before. sebast joined us soon after and we played texas hold'em poker, with betting stakes of not money or chips, but puffs of the shisha, which was neverending..even shared amongst all 5 of us, since it could be continuously refilled with charcoal and whatever else that we were smoking. seriously, i think i'll stick to cigarettes for my daily dose of poison. had quite enough shisha to last me for a long time last night. our last hand before we sua tiu was extreme. minimum bet 10 puffs, max no limit. fatass ended up the loser with 40 puffs, with al following closely at 30. lol!

so ended my enjoyable weekend, which was for me, one of the better ones i had in recent times.
