My Lovely English Teacher
Saturday. 11.3.07 7:37 pm
So today when I was waiting with my Extended Essay supervisor, my old english teacher came up to say hi and ask if I was keeping up with the whole creative writing thing.

So...i felt like posting some of my poetry :3

Futile Anticipation

Sitting in a waiting car,
In the eternal line of angry rest,
Watching ice-breath come from my
Changeling brother's chattering mouth.
The touch of sticky leather beneath my fingertips,
Expecting at any moment,
A glittering palace to come rising from the
Sludge grey smog emitted by the
Thrumming humdrum monsters squatting
Bumper to licence plate along the weary road,
Where tangible impatience
Shivers in the ice kissed air.
As i turn to slowly watch the
Condensation beads weave themselves down the
Mildew coloured glass,
I see with my fathers conspiratorial nod,
That the building of pure crystal glass,
Is taken from my waiting gaze.

Fireworks

Hoist me high on Atlas' shoulder
Into the thick dark night.
Bobbled heads surrounding my feet
The sombre stars above.
Fluid light bubbles and froths in hot spring gushes
Before slicing and whistling up in a shrill shriek.
The thunder-boom rattles out my voice,
But through scream blazes
Magnesium melded flames
Scattering cinder-feathers
Which fizzle softly away.
Don't go.
Stay and set fire to the dark,
Toast the fat marshmallow moon,
And let the stars dance.

Conscious Dreaming

I sit
And watch the disjointed moving of my toe.
It's rose madder nail stands shining
In the hushed whiteness of sunlit bedsheets.
Outside,
Fluid drone sinks into subconscious,
Along with the still-lingering scent
Of last night's perfume.
Jeans lie,
Crumpled and cobalt,
Like a sheet set in plaster of paris
For an artist's still life.
The faint tingling of half-burnt skin,
Keeps me from un-answered dreams.
I contemplate movement,
But find that all i have,
Is concentrated in the end of
My left foot.

It really does make all the difference when you have a kind teacher. Especially a kind AND fair one. XD

Beautiful poetry, by the way~! I'm looking forward to seeing more. =3

i actually like writing stories but my english teacher once commented "it's the most boring story i have ever read". so boring until she didn't even bother to finish reading the first paragraph.

It definitely makes a difference! I've never gotten an A in maths before because I've never truely understand them until my friend, who, unfortunately, I have never met before, just talked to him through IRC a few years back, never even talked to him now, took the time to help me with it and it miraculously turned super easy.

Though, another factor is that as long as you work hard, you'll be able to scrape through the subject.

renaye - your english teacher is harsh....a teacher shouldnt say something like that ¬.¬" i woulda complained....

XD thanks for the advice nuttz....i realise that hard work does allow you to scrape through the subject, asi am working waaaay harder than i did in third year, so im managing to scrape by with a B....and not be dropped to a bottom set >.<

It's nice to have... well.... nice teachers.

Though for me this year, I think it's more that I have no friends in several of my classes...
» randomjunk on 2007-11-04 01:28:33

interestingly, i dont really get on well with any of the people in my maths class either....but then the same can be said of my bio class though (although i actually quite like them, i wouldnt call them friends...my maths class im verging on mild dislike....)
