Darth Maul
Many people argue that Darth Maul should have survived Episode I, but here's my theory.

Darth Maul had to die to show two things:
1) Obi Wan is a hard ass
2) Symmetry.

Now, the only thing that stops me is that Darth Maul does not look the way he does because it's his genes... no, those marks are tattooed onto his head... almost like George Washington, who had his face that we see tattooed on, when really he looked like Adrian Brody.

Darth Tyrranus may have sucked ass, but Maul needed to die. End of story.
dare I say I have no idea how this money thing works? But I have a feeling it's gonna rip my heart out at more than one point...

HELP ME!
Friday. 2.12.10 3:42 am
How did I get so jaded?

A girl who is amazing for me drunkenly and rather friendly-esque dropped the "I love you" on me... and I had no idea how to react to that.

I instantly started analyzing what kind of game was on here... thankfully this was on the facebook so my ridiculousness wouldn't be seen... but it got me to thinking, my latest romantic trauma was four years ago... and yet still I am so untrusting... does anybody have some tips here? Because I feel like I'm being utterly ridiculous as to the point where I have to analyze any mention of the words "I love you" without being able to respond.

-Love,
Chris

Honestly, I'm worse off than you are. It's been longer for me and I STILL have a hard time. So, I understand where you're coming from and if you find any answer, please, let me know.

Good luck!

Love isn't necessarily confined to romantic relationships. If she's a close friend, the fact that she loves you as a friend shouldn't be a surprise. :P

As for your more general problem, I don't know what to tell you. Life happens.

Hmmm. This all depends on the context. Did she say "I love you"? or did she write it to you on Facebook? and did she say/write something like, "im soooo durnk hahahhahah omg i love you!!!11" or did she say/write "I love you" in a serious voice/tone?

I think most people would over-analyze someone saying "I love you", even if they didn't have trauma in their past. Anyway, whether it is friendly or serious, the fact that she said it is a good sign that she feels warm feelings towards you, which is good, but it definitely doesn't guarantee that she actually likes you more than a friend. >D good luck. :D

well you started off saying she was drunk, and she was acting like a friend. so i wouldn't over think this statement of "i love you." perhaps it means nothing.

If it's only on Facebook you probably shouldn't worry too much about it. If she says it to your face though, that's different...

If she says it again sober...I think then that would be the time to reanalyze the meanings.

As far as the bigger picture goes, with the inability to trust... I think that, in the end, it's all about risk and reward. We tend to resist taking risks unless the reward outweighs the potential hardships.
But maybe that's a bit naive.
