Darth Maul
Many people argue that Darth Maul should have survived Episode I, but here's my theory.

Darth Maul had to die to show two things:
1) Obi Wan is a hard ass
2) Symmetry.

Now, the only thing that stops me is that Darth Maul does not look the way he does because it's his genes... no, those marks are tattooed onto his head... almost like George Washington, who had his face that we see tattooed on, when really he looked like Adrian Brody.

Darth Tyrranus may have sucked ass, but Maul needed to die. End of story.
dare I say I have no idea how this money thing works? But I have a feeling it's gonna rip my heart out at more than one point...

Lovely.

So the super bowl is tonight, but before my pick for the big game, let me tell a story that makes me very happy.

So the time is about 9:30 PM, I've been sitting at home all day, bored out of my skull. My best friend Eric is at Millersville, and my buddy David is sick at home, so I have nobody to hang out with.

Then I get an IM from Megan.

Megan goes to Millersville, and went to CB East. She's dated one of my friends, Jordan for almost two years now. We didn't meet until last year at a party where she started a long standing tradition of "harassing" me at parties. It mainly means when she sees me at a party she will come and sit on my lap and we'll talk pretty much the entire time. Her and two of her friends, Erika and Julia have mastered this art over the year I've been attending parties at Millersville.

Megan and I talk often, but have never actually hung out outside of party situations.

Anyway, she IMs me and it turns out she's in Doylestown! So I suggested that we hang out. So she comes up with the idea of going to a local diner.

Possibly the greatest idea ever.

We actually got to know each other for the first time. I talk to this girl more than most people, but have never really gotten to know her, and I'm not gonna lie, it was fantastic. We sat there for three and a half hours, drinking coffee and talking about anything and everything, from how much math sucks (equations are the devil's sentences), to drunken horror stories, to what we are studying in school.

I was going to go to bed at 10:30 tonight, and I'm so happy I didn't, because this was one of the most satisfying nights I've had in a long time. Just sitting at a diner, drinking coffee, and talking with somebody truely interesting.

And the best part is, as gorgeous and interesting as this girl is, I felt no need to hit on her, because:

A) her boyfriend is one of the coolest guys I know, just very relaxed and laid back and has been one of those acquaintences of mine for so many years that I would actually consider him as one of my friends.

B) It was just so nice that I could actually sit down like that, and get to know somebody. Because let's face it, 80 percent of the people I meet and give a chance to be my friend, it turns out I can't stand them, sorry, I'm an asshole, and I've come to terms with that.

and C) I haven't just sat down with a girl in such a long time and just gotten to know her as a friend. I missed it, and I'm really happy about tonight. Seriously, I can't even understand it. It's ineffable.

Coffee and cigarettes, kids. It brings people together.

Anyway, I made a friend of mine become a good friend tonight and I'm ecstatic about it. And I felt I had to make tribute to it somehow, and HEY I HAVE A BLOG!!!

Okay, stuff about my happiness ends here.

Time to talk football.

Colts vs. Bears.

The Bears beat the Patriots in the '86 Superbowl.
The Colts beat the Patriots to get to this Superbowl.

I don't like either of these teams, but Peyton Manning is the best quarterback in the league, and has earned my respect and love over the years. The guy deserves a ring, and he has the best chance he's gonna get to win it this year.

Colts 31 Bears 17.

Love,
Chris

I agree about Peyton Manning. Colts all the way.

I have a female friend pretty much in the same situation as yours, with a boyfriend I know and all, and we get along great and hang out sometimes. I'm personally not an extremely vocal/conversation person, but with her I can talk for hours. It's good to know somebody like that.
