Darth Maul
Many people argue that Darth Maul should have survived Episode I, but here's my theory.

Darth Maul had to die to show two things:
1) Obi Wan is a hard ass
2) Symmetry.

Now, the only thing that stops me is that Darth Maul does not look the way he does because it's his genes... no, those marks are tattooed onto his head... almost like George Washington, who had his face that we see tattooed on, when really he looked like Adrian Brody.

Darth Tyrranus may have sucked ass, but Maul needed to die. End of story.
dare I say I have no idea how this money thing works? But I have a feeling it's gonna rip my heart out at more than one point...

second long weekend in a row
341th day of 2006
Oh man.

So I'm heading up to Massachusetts tomorrow with my father and brother for the Christening (which is Sunday).

So here's what I can expect from this weekend:

-Seeing family that I haven't seen in two years, which includes about 10 Aunts and Uncles and about 20 cousins.

-Seeing my last surviving grandparent, my dad's mother. Sweet lady.

-Going to my brother Bob's house about once a day to see the kids.

I love going to Bob's house. I don't get to see him all that often so it's good to go up there and see exactly what an absolute success story looks like. Bob had cancer at a very young age, and after fighting through that (he still walks with a limp, 20 years later) he has gone on to be a huge success. He is the head of Physical Therapy at a major Boston Hospital, he has a beautiful wife and two beautiful kids, not to mention a kick-ass somehow friendly pitbull. Not to mention the many, many degrees from so many educational institutions that just guaruntee him a job at any hospital at any given moment.

And it's good to see it for one reason. All of the success and good things that came to him didn't JUST come to him. He's worked his ass off his entire life and now it is starting to pay off. It's just amazing to see what you can do when you just actually try. It's a hell of an inspiration just to go up there and be around him. And yet the man is humble.

And as per usual, when I come back from Massachusetts I will probably want to be a doctor again. It has been a dream of mine for years to go to school for medicine and actually go through with it all, go to grad school, and become a doctor. But I've only known one person who successfully did that, and it was Bobby. Everybody else I have personally known hasn't been able to, and honestly, whenever I think about it, I belive that I can't either.

If only I could just not think about it.

Anyway, that was one hell of a tangent, let's get back to the real point of this weekend excursion.

I can NOT wait to see my Godson for the first time. I've seen pictures of Jesse, but just like with Daniel (Jesse's older brother), I know it won't set in what this kid is to me until I hold him for the first time. I just hope the little bugger is good at the Christening and doesn't start to cry, haha.

All in all, it should be a fun weekend. And I'll try to update at some point during it. I wouldn't expect anything until at least Monday or Tuesday, though. Sorry, folks.. I'm not a machine.

Love,
Chris
