The Pensieve
Callahan's Law: Shared pain is lessened; shared joy is increased.

The universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. The language is not Narn or Human or Centauri or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the language of hope."
"It speaks in the language of trust. It speaks in the language of strength and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul. But always it is the same voice. It is the voice of our ancestors speaking through us and the voice of our inheritors waiting to be born. The small, still voice that says: 'We are one. No matter the blood, no matter the skin, no matter the world, no matter the star. .. We are one. No matter the pain, no matter the darkness, no matter the loss, no matter the fear. .. We are one.' Here, gathered together in common cause, we begin to realize this singular truth and this singular rule that we must be kind to one another. Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light our way to a better future. We are one."
"We are one."

"They aren't as dreadful as the old cells," Illyan objected mildy. "I remember those. Spent a month under arrest in 'em myself, thirteen years ago." He cast a slightly sour smile at Miles. "Something about the Lord Regent's son's private army, and a certain treason charge."

Besides, DS9 had a captain that was actually likable, a shapeshifting security chief, and a tailor who was once the alien version of James Bond.

"I have come to the conclusion that the dashing young knight, who was supposed to ride in on his snow white horse and sweep me off my feet, has apparently become lost in the forest and is too stubborn to ask for directions."

To all my fellow physics students, may your Hilbert spaces be small and your bosons and pi-mesons be heavy. May your quarks have mass, and your lasers stay cool. May your particle accelerators smash with a vengence, and may your grad students graduate before death. To physics, and beyond!

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

Its snowing in the middle of freakin' APRIL!!!!!!
Sunday. 4.24.05 11:25 am
For crying out loud...snow?? In mid-April? After having a bunch of above 70 days....its just insane....*sighs* I just *love* Bleaksburg weather...and we were supposed to have a nice SWE end-of-the-year picnic too. I was planning to go, but that was before I stayed up til 6am reading "Lady Slings the Booze" (so *thats* why Callahan started his Place *grins*). I did another one of those marathon lets-read-an-entire-novel-in-one-night sessions...I think my last was over winter break with "A Civil Campaign". I really shouldnt do that, since it wreaks havoc with the next few days. Oh well. Now I have to get into the "study until your head explodes" mode, since I have 3 tests, 2 papers, and extra credit all due this week. *sighs* Im thinking of studying for my test that is tomorrow and writing one of the papers, then calling it quits to read or watch TV...

:-)
Wow. So you stayed up and read a book for a marathon. Was it because you had to or b/c you wanted to? I stay up til forever reading books too. It does screw with you after a while. Your week seems to be busy and I'm sure it's going to suck. It's okay. Teachers here are trying to push in some last minute work before exams in May... Little do they know that they are making more work for themselves. Here's a nice quote I found "Love your enemies. It will drive them crazy..." :-) Good luck this week. Happy trails. ~ Nicole

This is why I'm becoming a teacher! My partnership classmates have talked my teachers into extending dates all semester so stuff was more spread out. Also the big chunk of our work was due before midterms. I wish you all the best of luck! I'll be slaving away at Thomas's trying to earn enough money for my summer class and gas money to get there. See you at Revel! -Becca
