Lyrics
"Whether You Fall"

Whether it's the sunshine whether it's the rain
Doesn't make a difference 'til you complain
Whether it's the water coming in from the roof
Does it piss you off that you're not water proof?

Whether you fall means nothing at all
It's whether you get up it's whether you get up

And you hate the silence as it fills up the room
And there's not much to say to your blushing groom
Maybe all eyes are on you as you finish the race
And the world sees you struggling for last place

Whether you fall means nothing at all
It's whether you get up whether you get up
marriage

guess wat!? i just spoiled someting again!!! tis time... its the volume control buttons on my antique laptop! oh man! one of the buttons came off and was lost in the laptop itself. lets just pray tat no one in my family uses tat button n they wont find out. *pray*

anyway, tis being the holidays means i have nth better to do except for bitching abt my results and errrrr... rotting, slacking and fattening myself up by snacking all day. well... looking thru wat i have written for the past few entries, i been doing nth but bitching abt my results and exams which is freaking boring to read. so today i shall write someting more reflective in nature. haha! yes! i do reflect from time to time!

to get the ball rolling... hmm... y do people get married anyway???

is it to prove their love for each other in black and white? is it to have someone who will there thru the good times and bad? or is it to have legal sex?

honestly, i have many conflicting ideas and views on marriage. i used to tink that getting married in a way means giving up on yr freedom. cos in singapore's culture,a person onli become officially free from the cluthes of their folks when they turned 21. so just imagine tis, a person gets married at the age of 26 will be giving up the kind of freedom they have been waiting for for the first 21 years of their life to have onli enjoyed it for 5 years. anyway, i dun tink i making sense here.

to some guys, getting married means stepping into the grave of love or its a form of life sentence. strangely enuff, when i looked into the thesaurus, synonyms of marriage are LIFE SENTENCE, RESTRAINT and WARRANTY... so does tat mean even the thesaurus agrees on the fact tat getting married is indeed getting a life sentence? or it could be the creator of tat thesaurus is a guy? haha!

but one ting for sure, marriage is a beautiful ting tat is provided tat the two parties' love for each other nv change. k..... i tink i m starting to sound disgusting here. so after reading the bull of crap i wrote above, wat are yr views of getting tied down ???

errrr... work in progress (wip)
» BITCH on 2004-11-12 04:32:38

wow, and u did research on the thersaurus! haha.. i think marriage is so called end of the independant life because more often than not, the other person gets controlled on what they can do by the spouse, and more often than not, its the guy that is on the receiving end more often. But then again, marriage isn't end of independance, both parties still must have their own 'life' out of the relationship to make it healthy; such as having their own group of friends to meet up with. Well, i guess guys are just scared about the controlling part, im kinda in between...well even my mum admits that girls do that.

haha! yes i did my homework on the thesaurus cos i have nth better to do! wah! i m freaking bored at home. anyway back to the topic, i too also believe that both parties should still have their own life to keep things more interesting and so that they can share information with each other tat the other party dunnoe. frankly, i also tink women nowadays are also afraid of being controlled too.

» BITCH on 2004-11-12 07:10:21

i dun really think marriage is a form of control, but rather it says that "i am committed to spend my life with you". if so, why the sky rocketing divorce rates?
I dun believe in getting married.

btw, re SQ, whoever that may be: the string of numbers behind your name shows that the comments are from the same comp.

haha! yes the internet protocol tingy! boy are u sharp!
» BITCH on 2004-11-12 08:09:41

hmmm.....great topic to discuss....er....y people married????er...i think marriage not onli proved one love to another but also showing a form of security to each party (u know, nowaday people onli believe in wat is wroten black and white.....), in another words,- is to give each party(especially the female) a "name" in the male's family(sound confused rite...haha).......nonetheless, like koban said..."marriage isn't end of independance, both parties still must have their own 'life' out of the relationship to make it healthy; such as having their own group of friends to meet up with"....well i totally agreed wif that....haha....MARRIAGE IS JUST ANOTHER STAGE OF LIFE TO TEST OURSELVES(making one to be more responsible).... = )
» LiuWenCong on 2004-11-12 08:25:18

Marriage is lawful contract. Either parties who break it are subjected to punishment. Period. Divorce rates are high because we have this "to-hell-with-punishments" mentality
» fantasy on 2004-11-12 09:39:42

i dunno, maybe devorce rates are up because its so easy to get one nowadays that its like an emergency button to press whenever there's the slightest problem in the relationship
» Koban on 2004-11-12 09:48:31

bleah, boss beat me to it..was gg to say tt all the IPs of gabby's comments are the same too..sian.

re:Koban
nowadays, its so common to divorce.
i'm wondering y pple bother to get married in the first place. we have the freedom to choose the guy/gal we like. but seems to mi we are abusing the freedom. old timers dun have the option to divorce and their marriages last, becoz they dun have a choice.
sad man
» (203.120.68.70) on 2004-11-12 02:40:22

that was mi
» merrick (203.120.68.70) on 2004-11-12 02:40:42

but 'old timers' people often suffer in silence too... so on one hand it helps people in really bad marriages an option, on the other it makes it so convenient.
