A couple moved into the apartment next door!

Last night, I discovered they have a tv in their bedroom. Also, our bedroom shares a wall with their bedroom! :D

I fell asleep watching a movie on the couch and got up to go to sleep in my very soft and comfortable bed, but I couldn't sleep! Was this because I could hear someone next door fiddling with their television? YES, IT WAS.

So I flopped around all agitated like for 2-hours UNTIL I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. I had kindly thumped the wall a few times, but to no avail. So at midnight I got up, put on some pants, and marched right down to my new neighbor's apartment and rapped on the door. A slovenly looking young gentleman answered the door. We had a conversation that went like this:

Me: I can hear your tv in my bedroom, we share a wall, please turn the volume down.
Him: Ohhhhhhhhh, that's our bedroom toooooooo...
Me: I have work in the morning and have to be up in about six hours. The noise from your tv is making it difficult for me to sleep, so I'm asking you to please turn the volume down.
Him: Okay, welllll, we can barely hear it sooooo...
Me: Turn it down.

Then I turned on my heel and marched right back on down to my apartment, flopped onto my bed, and enjoyed the silence that lasted about five minutes, until the neighbor decided to stomp around his apartment and make lots of OTHER noises, seemingly unrelated to his tv.

A battle's going down soon. I can feel it.

I've had similar sound-related issues lately with the group upstairs. There's a lot of isolated thumping, and a lot of seemingly unrelated stomping around. We've gone up there several times to ask what they're doing but they seem as confused as we are.

Some of us got fed up and went to the leasing office and told them. Hopefully they figure out how to stop walking on their knees. Maybe you can do something similar?

ha. it took like two seconds for all hell to break loose with your new neighbors.

we were excited when new neighbors moved in next door. it was a young couple. they are nice. however, they walk their dog and don't pick up after it. grr.
