There was some event or something at the Rose Garden Arena this morning so the trains were PACKED. A super annoying woman was standing behind me being all perky and talking to people and trying to get them to sign some petition or something. She was dressed in black leggings and knee high hooker boots like some sort of Kardashian. She should not have been wearing that outfit. Once the car cleared out, she came and sat riiight in front of me.

Not five minutes after sitting down, she turns to me and says, �Excuse me miss, I-�

�I don�t want to sign anything.�

�Oh, um, okay well it�s just-�

�No. This is my morning commute. I don�t want to talk to anyone or sign anything.�

�Um, okay I was just going to-�

�You�re still talking.�

�You�re rude.�

�I know.�

Then she cried.

Then, when she got off at her stop she said, �I hope someday you learn how to talk to people in life.�

Oh, honey. I know how to talk to people. I just don�t want to talk to you. And I know you think I�m the rude one, but you shouldn�t fucking ask people to sign shit when they�re enclosed in a tiny little box with you at 8:30 on Monday morning.

Good luck dealing with people just like me, ALL DAY.

I had a lady ambush me with religious crap one day in the waiting room at a doctor's office. I wasn't rude to her face, but upon leaving, I threw away the pamphlet and business card she gave me. I'm sure she saw me do it too. I honestly don't care what religion people are, I just don't want it pushed on me. Especially when I'm already in a place I don't like to be.

I feel sort of bad for the girl in this story, since she's probably trying to help out a cause of some sort, but the outfit... there is no excuse for the outfit.

And I'm undeclared, but leaning toward English/Creative Writing. The school I'm going to has all these annoying prerequisites for the creative writing classes, so I have to take a placement test and then two classes before I can even take an intro to creative writing class. COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. I've never taken a CW course before, so I'd like to try it out, but god, I feel like they're just trying to make it hard.

Yeaaahh...a little bit disappointed. Keep in mind that I do have a weakness for people crying, so I'm slightly biased. I totally shut down people who assail me in Red Square, but I try not to be a dick about it. Dismissive, but diplomatic.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
People who try to sell you things or get you to sign petitions are annoying, but I think there is no need to be unkind to them.

You don't really know why that woman dresses the way she does, or what petition she wanted people to sign, or why she has such a crappy job, or even what she was trying to say to you. She could be going through a really rough time, and before she talked to you she was barely holding it together and trying to be peppy so she wouldn't lose her job, or because she really cared about whatever it was her petition was about and she didn't want to let them down.

I know that those people are annoying, one time I had some guy go ballistic at me because I told him that I cared about mercury in the groundwater, but not enough to sign a petition about it... but in this crazy old world, with hardships and sadness and everything else--- the least we could do is be kind to one another, no? We can't control whether other people are rude to us, but we can control how we treat other people.
