Why Nutang Sucks

Why Nutang Sucks.

1. It's buggy: As a writer, one of the hardest things for me to do is get myself to sit down at the computer and write. When the host site that I am supposed to be writing at only works half of the time, this presents a problem because the likelihood of my being ready to write at the same time that the site is being cooperative is not very high.

2. It's not pretty: I think nutang is a newer site. I think this because it is difficult to navigate and sometimes the coding on the homepage itself is messed up. I only visit pretty websites that are easy to use and look like someone who is over 5 years old did the coding.

3. It's not user friendly: When you sign up to nutang you get the ugliest of ugly templates already applied to your blog. You can change it, but not easily. Unless you know how to fiddle with HTML on your own, you are stuck with their pre-built templates. Even the pre-built templates end up looking like you tried to write the code yourself without knowing how. The text boxes don't line up, modules don't show up at all, your header is halfway down the screen etc.

Also, just when writing out a post you have to know codes in order for pictures to show up. It takes me a good hour to and hour and a half just to write a post there if it happens to contain pictures. It is such a pain because you have to keep hitting preview to see if they are lined up, then go back and fix it, then preview it again and on and on and on.

Plus the comments are a pain. Trust me.

So, family and gentle readers, this is why nutang is the suckiest of suck when it comes to blog hosting sites. Even if they do 'pay' you (I have earned 18 cents so far...)

I tried to deal with it but...no, it's just not worth the struggle. Writing is supposed to be the hard part, not fighting with the hosting site.

I am going back to moongazing4beginners.blogspot.com. Because it loves me there.

Nutang has problems because it wasn't built by a team of people who got paid to program and code, it was made by one guy... kinda as a hobby.

i think u got a valid point here but then people still coming back here for the community. that's explain my frequency being here. look on the brighter side la~

Bahaha. Half these points are just whining, and the other half are wrong.

Well although Nutang isn't the best blogging site, I'm sure there are worse.
I've never had any problems with service here the whole time I've been here, except for 1 week of maintenance.
I don't stay here, or at any site, because of how flashy or perfect it is. Not even for the money.
I stay here because this community is one of the nicest ones I've ever met. Most of the members are so genuine.

No, it's not very "user friendly"
It was created with those who are somewhat familiar with a little coding here or there in mind, like random said, as a hobby.

I could go on, but I'm not going to.

Ok since invisible won't, I will.

1. Actually it works 97% of the time. And if you find it hard to write, why not try Microsoft Word then upload your finished product to NuTang after all your tweaking is done. It's not like your readers will re-read and re-read the same thing you wrote with minor adjustments because you weren't happy with a word or two.

2. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. While I must admit some layouts are very disturbingly misaligned, it only takes a tiny bit of tweaking to get used to it. Just because you don't know how to code your own layouts, don't diss the ones made by others, that's just plain rude. At least they've tried

3. ...Ok? So change it. Your page seems ok, so obviously you know at least some html. To whine about that shows you've just been plain lazy about it.

...er, what? o_o;; Ok if you find it that difficult to get photos into pages there are tutorials around on NuTang itself. ie, my Readings page has one, go have a look.

And, why, may I ask, are comments a pain? That you don't get many or what? Question: how many comments do you get from blogspot without you floating to other people's sites and saying "hey nice blog look at mine!"? At least you get some here :)

Personally I hate blogspot. Nutang over blogger any day. You have fun there tho.

Random
I agree with Random, there is no team of programmers working on the site. Additionally, this is the ONLY revenue-sharing blog site you will ever find. Good luck finding another one just like it, or better. :)
