Su used to love to dance with her daddy. When she was little, she would dance around the living room with him, his big arms holding her tight. But now she's older and she dances for men her dad's age and takes their money.

She doesn't live at home anymore, lives in a dressing room high above the street. Her cousin visits her sometimes, showing the 2 or 3 letters a week that Su's father sends to the cousin.. Every week her cousin drops off the 2 or 3 letters, and Su puts in them in a small black box, too ashamed to open them. Every week those letters piled up, never being read, never being opened..

One day, a few days before New Years, a letter appeared on Su's door. Her father had been there, to the club, to her dressing room, to her door. The note said 'The question still stands' but Su didn't know what the question was. So she read the most recent letter, then the next and so forth, until her cheeks were wet, the make up was messy and the floor was a mess..

A few days later, there was a knock on the door to Su's dads house. As the relatives were leaving and there was almost no more eggnog, Su's uncle opened the door and smiled a bit to Su, who stand there with a backpack in one hand and the note in the other

"Tirips, some one is here to see you." He called out, for Tirips was Su's father. Tirips came from the kitchen and smiled widely.

"Does your offer still stand?" she asked softly, smiling a bit.

"Always has, always will." With that, they began to dance and as they danced, the note fell from Su's hand, reading in Tirips's beautiful writing "I know where you are and I know what you do. But will you come back home?"
