I think I know what you mean
about smelling cold? I mean, it doesn't have a distinct scent, but it does. It doesn't smell like anything else so it is really hard to describe other than frosty.

well when you smell, you breathe inward through the nose. there are receptors in the nose that can feel cold, thus giving the illusion of smelling actual coldness.
