I am back mid-hiatus. Not sure why I'm on hiatus but I guess it's primarely due to still being sick and then being exhausted when I get home from work which just takes away my desire to do any of my usual things online like posting 'blog entries. But I am here to give it a shot this morning before breakfast any my shower which comes before I leave for work.
Well I called my boss on Thursday morning to let her know that I was in my new store. She told me that since I had only one more sheet to open in my store for the week that she was going to go into my store to open it so that I could go all the way to King of Prussia again to get in an extra day's work there.
Now...I always put all of my work books and tools into a cart so that I have everything available in the store. In my primary store I just keep my cart in the same spot all day and go to it when I need something. I even leave it there alone when I go to lunch. Well I constantly needed different stuff out of it at the KOP store so it was next to me the entire day. Since my key chain had a Pooh figure on it it didn't fit very well into my pocket and I used to always get poked by the keys whenever I stooped down to do something. So I would keep them in my backpack which I would keep in my cart. I know for certain that I put them in there and had all of the zippers closed. Well i went to the bathroom for about five minutes and came out and didn't notice anything different. About 45 minutes later I was going to take my lunch and I grabbed my backpack... the front two zippers were open and my keys were gone. It appears that someone stole my car keys!
I keep my apartment keys in my pocket because they're smaller keys and do not cause any problems in my pocket. And luckily I left my car door unlocked. I went to the service desk atleast 5 times until the time that I left the store. I asked everyone and begged them to let me know if they were to find my keys. I looked all over for the next 4+ hours. Nothing.
I called my boss and she said that in one of her stores she went to the bathroom and came out and her entire cart was gone! She was looking around when a store associate said that she looked like she was looking for something and asked her what it was. She told the associate that her cart and everything in it were missing. The associate told her that towards the back of the store there were similar items stuffed behind a small freezer display. She went back there and someone had obviously tried to hide her stuff. So she told me to look for them but to let her know before I left if I still couldn't find them.
I could not find them and she said that after she finished her time at her store that she'd come pick me up and take me home. I knew that I'd had my spare car key somewhere in the apartment so I was hoping to find that and then take the busses to work and then be able to drive my car home after work on Friday. Well there were torrential downpours and it turned out to be a good thing that she had to pick me up... I was going to take a different way home which should have been a much faster way home but she was listening to KYW News Radio which reported that there was over a two hour delay on that route home so she took a back way home. Well my car stereo won't even turn on so I would have never heard the reports and would have been stuck on that road in a torrential downpour for god only knows how long.
I finally got home and thankfully Jenn (
invisibleinkling ) located my spare key.
I woke up extra early to walk to the bus stop in the morning. I got there in plenty of time and the bus decides to not stop for me. So I lose a half hour there. And then I had difficulties in getting to the store from the mall because of the geographic location. I got to start work about 3.5 hours after I left my house.
Well after work Jenn met me at the movie theater in King of Prussia so that we could see The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D which was awesome. It was a great end to two not-so-good days.
I had other things I was going to hit up today but they'll have to wait because I am a little late for eating at to take my shower. But I'll be back.
Have a good, good one.

Day After Halloween = New Black Friday
I am going to continue a conversation that is going on in the NuTang shoutbox at the time that I'm writing this. This entry is mostly about the Christmas season taking up more of the calendar year. Which I know comedian
Lewis Black has pointed this out many times. Personally..I feel that the real Black Friday, as in the day after Thanksgiving, is an appropriate start to the Christmas shopping season. It's less than a month to Christmas normally and it does take me, on average, a month to do my shopping although that's pretty much because I need a month's worth of wages from work to pay for the stuff that I want to buy people.
But this year I have definitely noticed a shift in the holiday season. The day after Halloween, obviously November 1st, I got out of my car at the 7-Eleven on Main Street and look up the street and see the lit Christmas trees that they put up on all of the light poles up and down Main Street. WHY??? When I got to work they were setting up all of the Christmas stuff for sale. This is way too early. I can understand setting it up maybe the week before Black Friday but three? Two months before Christmas?
And then I go in to work yesterday morning. CHRISTMAS MUSIC! The 'station' that plays at work has removed all of its usual songs and played Christmas songs all day. Even everyone that works there noticed that it started early this year than ever before. Christmas music is meant to create the mood. It was 65 and raining out. A month and a half before Christmas. It DOES NOT create any such kind of mood now. And I'm hoping that it doesn't ruin it. I can't wait to be hearing the music perhaps the week before Christmas...when it means something. But it's irritating now and I'm hoping that it doesn't ruin anything.
Christmas...please do me a favor and go back to taking up less than a month!
In non-Christmas related news. I work a normal shift today but tomorrow is my first day of working 10:30am until 7pm. They had set this rule about a month and a half ago but the beacon that I use to login at work each day was set a little over two hours ahead of real time. So when my cell phone says that it was 8am, my PDA said that it was 8:11am. So I was still working 8:30am until 5pm which is roughly what I worked every day. But they changed the beacon so my PDA is now set to real time so this week I can't start until 10:30am and I won't get off until 7pm. And then I got the long drive to my new store on Thursday.
Last Thursday was so exhausting and god was I sore afterwards but the day went pretty quickly. I just need to find a different way home because it took me way, way too long to get home. But we're working on getting the store more up-to-par.
Well I just realized that I need to eat something so that I can take my shower and head out to work. But thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts with you. Have a good, good one!
