Nightride
Thursday, March 15, 2007
I am going to fast forward to the drive home.

The groundhog seemed to be correct in predicting the arrival of Spring as the weather today/tonight reflected the oncoming Season. The music cranked up..(as loudly as my portal speakers will play the tunes coming from my Sansa MP3 player) and the cool breeze sliding in through the three quarter cranked down windows. The smells of spring bring back the recollections you can't quite put your finger on but it borders déjà vu and you know that these things had happened to you on a very similarly weathered day. On most of the days of the year the scents of nature either freeze and fall to be shattered upon the ground or it is too hot and the scents are incinerated before you can distinguish one from another. But the scents from the nighttime are invigorating. They recharge the soul. Remind you of all of the things that are always living around you but tend to forget until the wind reminds you by its smell. I and my car are cradled between the yellow lines and the white line to my right. It's like a lower speed rollercoaster ride but better because you can jerk the wheel any time and change the tracks if the current ride isn't intense enough. The choice is always there and that equals power to an extent. A night like tonight refuels something deep inside someone and makes them feel powerful. It is made all the more precious by the very fact that they are so rare here. In a land where the weather goes from one extreme to another with very few and short stops in between, you learn to take them as you can get them and try to lock the feeling away to bring out in very small doses until it comes about again.

My left shoulder has been hurting badly tonight. It has been hurting off and on for about a week and a half. It feels exceptionally tight and often feels like a bad cramp right between my neck and shoulder joint. It feels horribly swollen. For about a half hour it hurt so badly that I could barely draw a breath in. I am not aware of an injury that would cause this. And with my Lyme symptoms I always have muscle problems/pains. But this is pretty bad. *whimper*

I had an extra long night at work last night. Chad calls from the mall near our apartments to tell me that he woke up late and missed the bus that would get him to our store. The last one for the night of course. And when does he call? 10 minutes before his shift starts. Jackass. I couldn't leave Erica alone to go get him because she is new and still asks a good deal of questions and that would have lead to numerous problems I'd bet. So she clocked out and drove down here to get him. And then he wasn't where I told him to be according to the text message she sent me. But after I took care of another couple customers I tried calling her back and Chad answered so atleast I knew that she had him. By the time that he shows up and we switch shifts I'd been there an extra hour and a half.

Now I can use the overtime because Jenn ( invisibleinkling ) will be in Dallas for two weeks and this will help me make sure that I have gas and food money. But hopefully I won't hear anything about it. And I wanted to kill him. Luckily he showed up on time tonight. And tomorrow night I get off at 8pm so I don't have to rely on it. No. Wait. If he doesn't make it for some reason, it will be up to me to get him to work. So he'd better show up when he should then as well!

I guess that's it for now. I found my Mineral Ice and put it on my shoulder and took something for the pain. I was hoping that at the end of typing this entry up I would feel the relief and be able to sleep. We'll see how that goes.

But I hope that you have a great night and I'll return very soon. Promise.

300 X 5,000,000,000
Monday, March 12, 2007
So after I got home from work we decided to head to the movies to see 300 even though the IMAX version was sold out for the entire weekend...by the very beginning of the weekend. I was just dying to see it beforehand and figured that if it's still in IMAX when Jenn ( invisibleinkling ) gets back from Dallas that we'll go see it again but in the best theater possible in this day and age.

In my humble opinion this was one of the best movies ever. It definitely isn't for everyone but anyone that enjoys the genres this film finds itself seated in should agree with me wholeheartedly. The passion and intensity of the film. The teamwork shown throughout. The confidence and determination. And in this day and age we can understand the concept of someone being so confident and not fearing death because they believe that their death in whatever service they are embroiled in while only bring them glory. I hate to compare them to "terrorists" or anyone in particular but you can understand how they fight so bravely and without the fear of death when they will be most greatly honored and rewarded to some degree because of how they died.

Much of the scenery was breathtaking. The cinematography style nearly made my mouth water. And somehow..the popcorn tasted even better while watching this movie than it ever had.

I really hope that we get to catch it in IMAX. But atleast we got to see it in the DLP screen so it's basically like watching it in High Definition!

Aside from that.... Another shorter shift at work today. Although I think that the manager of my side is going to "stand back and watch me work" because she's going to be gone for 8 weekdays and I will be taking over her shift. This shift on the weekdays can be a little tough. As soon as you walk in you have to make pizzas, burgers, cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, wings, chicken sandwiches, pepperoni rolls, cheesy breadsticks and other treats. While doing that you have to prep many different pizzas in different stages to help prepare for the second shift. To make sure that they have plenty of everything they need. She mentioned last week that she wanted to watch me to make sure that I am ready enough. I'd prefer that she sit in the back and just check up on my every 15 to 20 minutes or something. Being watched like that won't help her guage my readiness as it'll make me feel overscrutinized. But no matter what I'd have to put up with it for only 4 hours which hopefully won't feel like an incredibly LONG 4 hours.

That's about it I guess as I should get something to eat before I go. But I wanted to leave you with that. Have a marveltaculous day.
