A Valentine's Day Ode To Oneself
Thursday. 2.14.08 1:08 am
So it's Valentine's Day. One of the first that I can recall off the top of my head without thinking back real hard that I was alone. It's all good though. God willing there will be plenty of others in my life and perhaps none of them shall be spent alone save for this one.

I am not one to hold a grudge against those that are 'oh so totally in love' and are all doing the "ideal" things that those that are truly in love do on this day. I know plenty like that. Those that hold love in contempt on any/every given day the idea of true love. Of having those feelings for anyone other than themselves. And that would take this specific days to hold personal rituals to spite the day itself.

I am truly very happy for them. And I hold out my hopes that the future versions of this day will find me sharing these very feelings with someone who truly shares them with me.

God bless all you lovers and dreamers.

Now...onto stuff that makes me happier currently.

Today they officially signed the bill for the US rebates. In order to stop a US economy recession from occuring (or getting out of it..depending upon who you ask) the US Government has decided to give out checks to most United States tax payers in hopes that they will spend the money which helps boost an economy.

In these uncertain times it is far too important to hold onto every penny to spend money willy-nilly on things that you would like to have. You never know when a bout of bad health will hit. When you'll miss out on time at work and therefore money. Saving money for 'a rainy day' has become having to save for 'a rainy month'. Perhaps 'a rainy year'. So this will help give people money that they feel that they can 'blow' on stuff that they want and help stimulate the stagnant economy.

There are many other purposes such as those for homeowners. Checks will range from $300 to $1,200. Most US tax payers can expect $600. Those taxpayers that earn more than, I believe it was, $78,000/year (single) to perhaps $125,000/year (a couple) will get a smaller rebate. Those that should be getting $600 also get another $300/child. Chad said that we should have had babies before this. I said he was retarded because a child will cost you more than $300 so having children solely for this purpose is an idea for which he should be shot. STUPID.

The only things required to get your refund check is to have a valid Social Security Number and to file your 2007 taxes! An extra incentive to get your damned taxes filed! The checks should be received some time in May.

According to recent polls which were conducted while the government was still unsure if this would happen had shown that a large percentage of people were going to use the money to pay off bills/debts and/or save it. Which would technically defeat its purpose. But they still hope that enough people will use if for its intended purpose (SPEND IT BITCHES!) to help kickstart the economy somewhat.

Personally I hope that between tax refund, car money and Chad paying me back what he owes me I will be secure enough to get another car about the time that I move and also have the money which I need to get another apartment. Then the $600 (assuming that's what I'm supposed to get) could be spent on things I need. Such as getting my repaired guitar amp head from the store that's holding it. Perhaps fix up the PA head once we get it back. And put a little more money into another car which will help with the intended purpose as I wouldn't be getting into a lease deal. Just paying on-the-spot.

Now..why would someone in my situation get rid of the money? Well...the musical equipment will get us ready to play shows again...and playing shows makes us more money. Plus makes me happy. And these are things that I wanted to get done with the money I'll have coming in once I have enough to secure another apartment and car. So this will allow this future-incoming money to go towards those things and no music equipment or whathaveyou.

This is truly exciting and although there seems to be no kind of an exemption list of any kind....I hope to not find myself on any such list. GIMME THE MONEY! I'LL SPEND IT AS YOU INTEND!

That's it for that.

And I've made another design..but I gotta find a place to host the image(s) for it for now. So the new layout/design will be forthcoming. Sit back. Hold on tight.

And have Saint Valentines to all of you..whether you currently feel that you have reason to celebrate it or not.

Goodnight, friends.

Yo-yo Schedule.
Friday, February 1, 2008
Who knows what I'm doing at work next week.

Yesterday they had to fire the guy that was working 3 nights on third shift and 2 days on first/second shift because every single day his drawer was way too short. Initially I was scheduled off on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. Be off for Superbowl Sunday and be able to do the stuff I needed to do Saturday. I was slated for 32 hours.

Then because they needed his shifts covered I was scheduled for 48 hours with on Saturday off. No Superbowl. But still able to do what I needed to do Saturday and one of those things is tres important.

Then I saw the schedule today.... They brought back Brad who was let go because the store wasn't going to be given enough hours to keep him around. Well now he's working second shift some nights and third shift others. And now I work 5-10pm on Saturday..so there goes at least the one most important thing I was going to do. I am off on Sunday...so I will most likely watch the Superbowl. And then I am off Tuesday. I may be able to do on Tuesday what I was going to do Saturday. So hopefully it'll still work out...just with a three day delay.

In addition to that thing, my mom wanted to see if I would help her bring back more food that she got for me from the food cupboard (THANK GOD!) and she could spend the night. Well i will see if she thinks that she can handle the food on the bus to the station where my bus from work drops me off to catch the train home, we can meet up there. She can spend the night and hang out until Sunday evening or Monday morning depending upon her schedule. Watch some movies together and just spend some more time together. And possibly discuss some more thoughts about our idea of getting a place together when our lease is up here at the end of May.

Tonight sucked at work. Simply put. At one point I had to go to the bathroom for 3 1/4 hours before I got the chance to go. I could barely get done any of the other things around the store that I wanted to. There were just too many people too much of the time. And while I really had to go...some people just seemed to have an intuition about it and spend 35 minutes waltzing through the store to end up buying only a pack of gum. I can't deal with that crap any more. Luckily my Division Manager stopped in while I was there alone and he said that they should be ending this whole "one person per shift" deal as almost all of the stores are doing it and it's not good. Seriously...if my bladder ever bursts while waiting for a chance to go, I will sue for every penny that I possibly can. And if a woman who stupidly poured coffee on herself can get as much money as she did (which I still can't believe) then I should get billions considering the circumstances.

And I shouldn't forget that I get no breaks whatsoever. I mean we technically had never gotten breaks. But with a coworker there we'd be able to go out for a short time, get away from the registers and bitchy customers (sure not all of them were/are..but ringing up every customer for 8 hours straight guarantees that you will ring up MANY such customers) and smoke a cigarette or just breath some 'fresh' air. But now there is no such option. You're glued to the register. If someone walks into the store...they're YOURS. Can't pass 'em off on anyone. Can't send them to someone else when they start complaining hardcore so that you can ring up the rest of the customers. You have to try to deal with them while your line grows longer and longer.

I kicked the shit out of the 60 gallon Rubbermaid trash can several times. And put a slight dent in the steel office door. Certainly it's not solid steel..but still..I hit it HARD. And it will continue until someone changes something I am sure.

Okay, okay. No more work rants for tonight. But uh oh. Look at that. It leaves me without much else to say.

I'll return again very soon (NuTang functionality permitting) hopefully with something positive to report about something.

Cheers.
