SOHH Soulful would like to show some love to the ladies of Danity Kane for coming up out of the fuggin' woodwork and waxin' the asses of several major recording artists by leading this week's album sales with their self titled debut.
While all the stankonia was being made over one of hip hop's greatest bands, the little engine that could (Bad Boy Entertainment) was consumed with proving it could do what many had doubted, make a band. And that they did. Aubrey, Aundrea, Dawn, Shannon and D. Woods (the Dawn Robinson of the crew) have toiled for nearly a year and a half all in preparation for this moment. Enjoy it.
By now, I am sure you all have seen the exclusive video interview I did with these ladies. If not... what the fuck are you waiting on? Click here.
And speaking of making a band, Usher and J Records have teamed up to make their own band. Courtney, Jon, Michael and Rob make up the group One Chance. They have a new single titled "Look at Her" featuring Fabo of D4L. Click here to listen.
This name really suits us,” says Jon Gordon, 20. “One Chance means we only have one life and this is our one dream and you’ve only got once chance to do it. We feel like all we need is one chance for people to hear us and they’ll love us.
You got that right. Because the boy band invasion is prepping for full swing with upcoming releases from veterans like Boyz II Men and 112 as well as new boy bands like Luke & Q, Chapter 4 and Midwest City.
Midwest City is a quartet from Oaklahoma who worked with Cool & Dre on the first single from the upcoming CD, Authentic R&B, titled "One Love". Click here to listen to "One Love."
I dunno... Are we feeling boy bands again? Has the rumored break-up of Outkast and the disbanding of Destiny's Child made way for groups like Mojoe, Cherish, Tiffany Affair and whomever else that is on the come up?
Personally, I don't care who is doing what, just sound good and drop the beat.
And since we can't go a whole entry without entering Beyonce's world, a place that laid the blueprint for the successes of a Danity Kane, check out our new joint of the day fresh from a Japanese import of B'day titled "Creole."
I have to ask... Is this chick so far ahead of her times or is she just about due for an upgrading?
