The Fragile Thing Called Man Thursday. 7.15.10 10:09 am "But I had a problem with your basic premise that 'breakability', or whatever you want to call it, is a very common-place attribute of human beings. And I even wondered, at first, 'Is he turning into just another sentimental humanist?' Because the Kogito I knew originally would never have bought into that sort of cheap, popular palaver." - The Changeling, Kenzaburo Oe I mentioned how fragile some guys can be in a conversation not too long ago and imagine my suprise when I read that excerpt in a book that I am reading too fast to digest. Of course when I say fragile I was referring to an emotion level and not so much the physical. I was being completely narrow minded. The actuality is that man/woman, people are all breakable. Breakability is hardly the foremost thought in our minds when we pull stupid stunts, bungee or cheating relationships included. 1 Comments. I think there is something fundamental about the fact that Man is a) flawed and b) mortal............ no matter how strong a man is, his existence is actually extremely fragile and temporary. That book you are reading sounds interesting, maybe I will try to find it. » Zanzibar on 2010-07-24 11:18:48
