Telling two people they can love each other and be a "civil union" but not get married is a condescending form of segregation. We are all the same in the sense that we are all human beings. Legal agreements is one thing and is a step in the right direction. However we are not in the same world we were in 100 years ago. There is this old way of thinking that we are not the same people, that some are not as 'good' as others. I am the same as you, my love is the same as yours, and we are in fact the same. Nothing makes you, or myself, or him, or her, or them better then anybody else. Declining the idea of same-sex marriage but still allowing the relationship to be recognized legally says: Well you can sit there, but you cant sit over here. Human beings should all be rewarded the same rights, including the right to marriage.

VOTE NO ON PROP 8.

Have you seen those "Vote yes on Prop 18" things? They're good for shoving in people's faces when they start saying "yes on Prop 8!"

Well, the Prop 18 thing is sort of a parody of Prop 8, I think. It's got all this stuff saying "left handed people are unnatural and wrong! We should force them to be right handed!" so that people realize what they sound like when they support Prop 8.

Yes, it's easy to say that. It's so easy to say something, but it's harder to do it. Each time something happens, you think it might be different. You can never really know something unless you've experienced it. Which, really, will help you from making mistakes in the future.

It's all worth it, in the end, in my opinion. Whether I listen or not. Sometimes I think to myself that I should've listened, but then if I did, I would always wonder if it could have been different.

It's one of those chance situations, I guess.

I agree fully. The only ones that fully support it wholeheartedly are the scared Christians who use the Bible as a defense. Homosexuality, Obama..etc.. if they personally do not like something they will do their best to find some obscure passage in the Bible which seems to justify their retarded point-of-view so that they can feel devout and holier-than-thou instead of racist, close-minded, fearful biggot.

Sorry for my own rant in your comments but seriously if a Church does not want to marry a same-sex couple because they feel that it demeans the institution of marriage from a religious standpoint then they can refuse to perform the ceremony and they couple can have it done by the State by a Justice of the Peace or similar. But somehow people have forgotten about the separation of church and state. That just because the bible has a sentence in it which may look down upon Homosexuality, the Government can say that it won't recognize those marriages.

God I hate those commercials. The ones that talk about the so called "consequences" of teaching about gay marriage in schools. Who gives a flying ferret if your kids learn about gay marriage? They should learn to be tolerant so the world can actually get better.

Yeaaaahh, & Prop 8 has nothing to do with schools. People need to acknowledge what we have accomplished in the past, in terms of social movements. Women were fighting for their rights, as well as African Americans and Mexicans, but the one group that was forgotten are gays and lesbians. If more of my age group was able to vote (under 18), from what what I've seeen, the majority believes in no on prop 8. so yes, totally agreeable.
