That is by far the hardest common question to answer and also being the person asking that question, getting one of the most confusing answers. I don't know if it is the same for you but more often for questions like "Do you mind me taking this chair?" and the answer is "No" but it doesn't mean "no, I don't mind", it is "no, this chair is taken". Or if you're asking someone a favour, "Do you mind helping me move the car", the answer would be "Of course! Sure, sure. Leave it to me!" So.... of course you mind moving my car for me so I shouldn't leave it to you? Well, I can't really blame people as also I give these confusing answers. I think it would be impossible to accurately answer that question without creating any confusion at all because of the norms of society. We are always somehow accomodating. So, tell me what are your experiences with the question. You don't mind, that is. 5 Comments. haha! That was a clever little ending there. I can definitely relate. I guess I haven't put much thought into it, but it has happened several times. Usually it's..."so you do mind, or you don't mind?" and then it just furthers the confusion. Very interesting...never really took the time to ponder that. » PinkPanther08 on 2010-07-26 12:10:33 Re: More like we wont have many options food-wise for the week. Not that we wont be eating. Lots of leftovers and whatever junk we can find in our cabinets. » SporadicFunk on 2010-07-26 01:39:25 You should think about switching to ubuntu. It's totally free and from what I've seen works better than 7, which is 100x better than freaking Vista. :/ » zana on 2010-07-26 04:29:51 Another common confused saying I hear often is "I could care less." Usually when people say this they mean they "couldn't care less" but it comes out "I *could* care less". It's ridiculous. » invisible on 2010-07-26 11:40:52 Somehow I haven't run into a whole lot of trouble with such questions. I guess maybe because I tend to hear it in situations where both parties will elaborate on what they mean. » randomjunk on 2010-07-27 02:28:42
