More books!
Monday. 3.9.09 5:43 am
I remember a friend telling me that she read the book that I blogged about before. I just finished the book but right now, I canít find the post where I mentioned the book. I remember typing it and roughly when it shouldíve been posted but I canít seem to find the post and I donít remember deleting any posts lately. Maybe I really didnít post about it but I told her while chatting with her... I canít really pin point which...

Anyway, in case my memory betrayed me, I didnít finish The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie... the second Middle Eastern author whom book I chucked aside after reading a chapter or so. It contained too many minor details. I should try his other books before I ultimately say that I donít like reading books written by writers of Middle Eastern descent.

I read Number 9 Dream by David Mitchell after my attempt on The Satanic Verses. The book is a bit confusing because there are parts where you are unsure if the character is dreaming or is the situation a reality. Just like a ball coming right at you. Maybe it was purposely written that way to suggest that sometimes life is but a dream. There is also no ending to the book... which I think the author is suggesting that you create your own ending to which type of ending you prefer most. On the overall the book is okay... not too boring yet not that exciting either.

Now I'm reading The Messenger by Marcus Zusak to see if I really like his way of writing or not. A friend said that he is very critical of either the Germans or the Jews... I canít remember which... but I think after reading 2 books, you can roughly guess whatís the authorís poison.

I'm going to update more often now since I have nothing much to do here, in my hometown other than waiting for my movies to finish downloading, watching them and reading books. Most of my friends who didn't leave town yet is busy doing something. I would love to just go catch a movie with someone.

I haven't read books for fun for a long time but I'm probably going to start reading books again... so I might look into some of the books you're reviewing... =)
I think I should try to be more like when I was in Highschool but i had more time during then.... now i have no time with school and work...

...Maybe the author of Number 9 Dream was just lazy and didn't feel like clarifying, and just got away with it because everyone came to the same conclusion as you. :P
