A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Kill that boredom!

I think I gave myself a white hair from stress. On my 21st birthday I found two white hairs on my head. Since then I have found two or three more. They are always in the exact same spot and I pull them out even though you're not supposed to do that, I think. I am pretty sure it's just stress and not going prematurely grey, but I don't know if there's a way to tell for sure. I guess for now I should just appreciate my hair. People tell me it's nice. Even though I'm not a big fan of Tumblr I sometimes end up there because a lot of the webcomic artists I follow are on there, and through some sort of series of links I ended up looking at this: 19 Things To Stop Doing In Your 20s I thought it was going to be really dumb at first but there are some not-stupid things in the list, actually. Pleasant surprise, I guess. Though... I think some of the points could easily be taken the wrong way... Like this one: 8. Stop being stingy. If you really care about something, spend your money on it. There is often a notion that you are saving for something. Either clarify what that thing is or start spending your money on things that are important to you. Spend money on road trips. Spend money on healthy food. Spend money on opportunities. Spend money on things youll keep. Have to wonder how many people would actually be able to judge what's worth spending money on. When I went to visit St. John's, while I was still in high school, I remember this banner in the dining hall that was supposed to provide some healthy tips for eating. One of the tips advised that if you want to eat, think about eating an apple. If you don't want to eat an apple, you're probably just eating out of boredom and not hunger. I don't know how well that actually works, but it's stuck with me for some reason. Just that idea of... "how much do I really want this?" For me, it usually turns out that I don't want it. 3 Comments. Since I've moved out of my parents' house last summer I have lost some weight. This is mostly because 1) I walk a lot more than I used to, to bus stops and whatnot, 2) I have to buy ALL of my food 3) I discovered a lot of my eating was because I was bored and "felt like snacking" or whatever. I still don't eat very well, but now I try to think about why I'm eating what I'm eating and at least be AWARE of it instead of just shoveling it directly into my mouth. » invisible on 2013-06-28 12:03:57 I've had an apple in my purse for about five days. I never want to eat it. I also have like one white hair. It appeared at the crown of my head when I turned 25 or 26 and I keep pulling it out. It keeps coming back, but so far it hasn't spread. » Zanzibar on 2013-06-29 12:28:50 Powernap is a good comic. :) » sagittariusmoon on 2013-07-04 08:05:07
