A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Hawaii Pacific sent me a bunch of fancy crap at first, like that acceptance folder and the t-shirt that was huge and whatnot. St. John's sent me a little paper that said "Congratulations on being accepted! Have this $16,000 annual scholarship!" [Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging, I'm not trying to :(] So of course I picked St. John's. Then the other day, HPU sent me a paper that said "Hey, you can get this $16,000 total scholarship if you come here." Tsk. Too late, suckers. Stop sending me XXL t-shirts and maybe you'd have the money to give out better scholarships. :P --- Y'know, it would kinda suck if I found a college I actually wanted to go to right after their application deadline passed. Recommended by 1 Member 10 Comments. Maybe the tshirt has a retail value that exceeds $16,000. » dave on 2008-11-30 03:59:55 It sounds like the university is desperate. Maybe the college you really wanted to go sucks in the course you want. » Nuttz on 2008-11-30 07:44:53 Lol @ dave Ummm holy shit St. John's is expensive...they better be giving you at $16,000 scholarship...at least! Anyways, congrats on all the acceptance letters, it does feel good doesn't it? » The-Muffin-Man on 2008-11-30 11:56:25 Sweeet. I was looking up St. John's and it said it had several campuses. Which one will you be on? If you ever get bored you can come and visit me in Providence. ;) » Zanzibar on 2008-12-01 02:05:09 "girls go to college to get more knowledge" when it was time for me to graduate, I was half-heartedly looking at a couple places, but ultimately decided to go to the local junior college - get the basics done while I figure out what I want for a lot cheaper anywhere else. » invisible on 2008-12-01 04:49:24 Hey Random To tell you the truth I just think it is riddiculous. That is why the US is known as the land of freedom. I am sure that other countries such as Malaysia spit on us for allowing such freedoms but that is THEIR problem. It is just good info to know before you travel to malaysia. You dont want to be arrested for the way you dress!!! » KKama67 on 2008-12-01 06:31:12 College So I guess you are not into the oversized shirts huh? LOL! I dont know much about St. Johns. Where is it located? » KKama67 on 2008-12-01 06:33:09 Queens? Whoa, I hope you know your way around NY. Personally I would go to Hawaii and sleep in that shirt only because I know my way around. :) » KKama67 on 2008-12-01 06:40:42 What phrase... super, excellent idea You have hit the mark.
