A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Wednesday, August 13, 2008 My dad is pretty internet-savvy, but my mom fails at it. Seriously, she can check her email and search on Google but that's about it. I was just thinking of the way she asks about things. Whenever I'm writing an entry here and she sees she asks "are you talking to someone?" Although I'm glad she obviously isn't close enough to read whatever I'm writing, it's just... weird. Like "for the millionth time mom, I'm writing an entry, not chatting it up with random strangers." Eh well. Pictures from yesterday... A bug on the windshield. The "Amazing Chinese Acrobats" or something. There was actually a lot more than this but we got there kind of late. Woo, bunch of people riding a bike with fans! Trevor and Aaron were playing foosball (which, when typed out, looks really weird) and Trevor had something of a disadvantage... He kept saying "it's not fair!" haha. :P Caveman riding the Sky Glider or whatever it's called. They have a cavewoman too, but I didn't take a picture of her. Down below. A lighter picture, where you can see that there are actually people. And this I took today: Behold, my almighty canvas. So, a summary of yesterday/night's events. We picked up Aaron, then Trevor (who now has a moustache and sideburns...) and headed to the Boardwalk. My friend Gwenny (Aaron is her brother) and her mom were supposed to meet us a little later, but they were delayed a while. We played some games in the arcade and rode a few rides before they came. Aaron did not really enjoy Fireball, but it was pretty funny to watch him scream and close his eyes in an attempt to not be freaked out more than he already was. I hung out with the guys until Gwenny showed up, then we played some more games in the arcade (well okay, the big one, there are a lot of arcades). We rode Riptide, the Rock-O-Plane, Wipeout, and the Sky Glider (because I didn't want to walk to the other end of the park :P). There isn't much to say after that. We went home (Gwenny, Aaron, and their mom drove home in their own car) around maybe ten thirty-ish. Trevor and my brother fell asleep, and I did too for about twenty minutes... I stayed up a little longer when we got back. Elliot was watching The Darwin Awards, which... to be honest, I'd never heard of before. It wasn't bad though. Well, the parts I saw, I mean. I was kind of tired though, so I took a shower and went to sleep... You'd think I'd have more to say, but nope, not really. :P Holy crap. I had no idea it took so much work to make comics... now I really feel like I have to support him or something.... --- It's too hot to eat. :| 14 Comments. Yes and yes. We're surrounded by sheep. And fan girls. » middaymoon on 2008-08-13 06:50:13 Actually, your class schedule sounds way more complex. We just have classes alternating every other day, other than fourth and fifth period, which are every day. o.O The video makes me wonder what's happened to simply hand-drawing comics. 3: » Unicornasaurus on 2008-08-13 06:54:16 Hmmm, the semester class schedule is actually very simple. I suppose it depends on what you're accustomed to. » Unicornasaurus on 2008-08-13 08:27:43 True. Haha, but you only have to think of one at a time. :P » Unicornasaurus on 2008-08-13 08:54:09 Ditto! Middle school did nothing to aid the transition from elementary to high school. It just made awkward kids even more awkward and dramatic teenagers. » Unicornasaurus on 2008-08-13 08:59:38 Well yeah, there's always that, heh. » Unicornasaurus on 2008-08-13 09:05:01 Re: Oh um, actually it was Unicornasaurus who wrote it in my dream. *darty eyes* Oh and my mum does not know how to use a computer at all. She wouldn't know how to turn it on or anything. *sigh* It balances out though because my dad is a computer wizard. :] And I'm plenty computer savvy. » yourcupoftea on 2008-08-13 09:58:46 yeah but I'm sick of seeing the white people win everything so I'm rooting for the chinese » The-Muffin-Man on 2008-08-14 01:06:10 Re: Well I can understand that, but I certainly don't mind if the girl switches things up. Makes things rather interesting. :3 » yourcupoftea on 2008-08-14 12:29:07 the caveman guy reminds me of those Ronald McDonalds you'd see sitting in/outside of McDonald's... As a kid, I'd always thought it was just kinda weird, especially in the "casual" way he sits on a bench with his left leg resting on the other, and his right arm stretched out along the back of the bench. Like he's saying "Come sit with me, children, and we'll eat grease and play in the ball pin all day together!" Just... weird. » invisible on 2008-08-14 11:20:05 re: 'huh?' It's a reference to the lip-sync controversy at the olympics » computersaysno on 2008-08-15 01:45:11 i found this site again hey hey hey! That's me she's talking about! *beams* lol, I love your comment about that youtube video. My feelings exactly. By the way, I had a great time at the Boardwalk, I hope you did too.
