A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Kill that boredom!

Change is imminent Friday, September 8, 2006 I'm thinking about changing my song. Evil by Interpol is, no doubt about it, a very good song, but it's always good to experience new things. And I know you'll all miss Evil... (say yes or DIE! Mwahahaha!) well I'll find something good enough to replace it sooner or later. In other possibly more interesting news, teachers underestimate their students' abilities to write. My french teacher, for instance. We were supposed to print out some stuff directly from the internet (but of course she explained this horribly so most people ended up doing summaries instead) and highlight certain parts. Since her skill in giving directions in english is somewhat limited not everyone did the research printout thing. So she said okay, well the next assignment is to summarize what you researched. And... because some of us did that already (myself included) what are we supposed to do? Summarize our summaries? But besides that... she doesn't believe that a 10th grader can write well. Her view of how we word things is something like "See the dog run. Haha. The dog is running. That is funny." Whereas most people I know with any writing potential at all would probably word it as "As I see the (insert breed of dog here) running, a smile plays across my face. For some strange reason I find it rather humorous on this particular occasion the way the dog is galloping across the pavement, like a horse almost." I hate it when the teacher thinks people are plagiarizing and they aren't. It's just so frustrating.... 3 Comments. Word that! My teacher had to google a poem of mine once because she was all, No, you can't write good. Smeared that all over her face. » Le_Jes on 2006-09-08 06:47:59 My Spanish teacher... ...holds some mysterious grudge against me, and I cannot figure out why for the life of me. In English the other day my teacher gave a 10 minute lecture on plagiarism because apparently a lot of kids did that for their summerhomework essays. She said: "Blah blah blah...and I don't expect you to go to this website and just copy and paste!" And she clicked her computer and up popped the very website I had used to help write my paper. Lol by no means did I plagiarize, but I was silently thinking "well crap." Because you'd be surprised about the level of coincidence that can occur just at the WRONG time... » The-Muffin-Man on 2006-09-09 12:34:02 lol these teachers are amazing! :DDDDD u cud literally swindle my teachers in my old school..!lol in essays and papers and all that, we'd just change the first lines and the last lines and copypaste and then poof! good grades...and some kids, in some subjects, they make their first lines sound serious and then in the middle they write song lyrics! lol and they get friggin A's! (i hope i have no teachers here) bwabhahha Well, it's not like i tried this stuff. Never tried them. Ok, tried the song part. bwahhahahha » frostbitten on 2006-09-09 09:29:15
