Firstly, an amusement.

It amuses me that people claim offense at the fact that I am staying away from all of the hullabaloo of tomorrow and wish to stay away from it. I find it almost doubly amusing that most everyone I know that is either one or two degrees away from someone killed or injured is also staying the fuck away from campus and everything involved with tomorrow. Well, except for whatsherface, Donnell knows who I'm talking about (but he doesn't read this, oh well), you just KNOW she will be all over the telly.

I'm going outside to hula hoop. All day. Maybe I'll come in and do some homework and studying. Maybe I'll bake some brownies to give people while I hula hoop. I'm not going to wear any black. Nor any orange or maroon, or anything VT-related. I plan to yell at any media person that comes to talk to me.

smistasan thinks they will try to spin that I am hooping "in honor" of people. I will say to them "does my hoop LOOK like it says "we are va tech we will prevail? do I LOOK like a zombie?! no!!!"" It would be pretty funny if that happened.

Now for the tomorrow.

It's been a year. Woo. Time for the hullabaloo. Anyone who knows/pays attention knows that I strongly dislike the college newspaper, and have written more than plenty entries on the use of dates to mark an event, when they are used as just a date, nothing more. Sure, it means something to the people involved... but otherwise, it's just a date. They have a section labeled "April 16". This annoys me. The date happens every year. SPECIFY, DAMNIT. Beh.

Also, the hullabaloo. OH god, the hullabaloo. I've already said what I think of the hullabaloo, so now this post is over.

Oh! Now I've remembered another important thing. It's going to be a year later, and still... what is known? I want to know things, and knowing this damn school, I probably won't ever know them. Thanks.

Also, there are signs all on the buildings "zomg media stay away".

What good are these signs if they are obscured by window-bars?

I keep editing this, hence all of the stars... There's so much hullabaloo about tomorrow, when most all of the people died, but what about the next two weeks... there's funeral anniversaries... what about those?

Also, I've seen signs about town saying that tonight, hooptie ride is offering free rides until 3a. I imagine they expect people to go and attempt to drink their sorrows away? Again, I think most people are probably locking themselves away after they were done with classes today. Though surprisingly, I don't hear any drunks... go figure.

That's the anniversary of the person's death?

it's a little weird how it's been a year already, but then again time tends to do that when you're not paying attention. I completely understand wanting to stay away from everything. the media doesn't care. they only want to get their paycheck
» LostSoul13 on 2008-04-15 06:46:56

Yay!
I'm glad someone sees this the same way I do. I was worried I'd offend everyone, hahaha.

Hula-hooping. Never got the hang of it OR brownie-making (burnt the last I tried). It must be wonderful to be able to. :P

The adult-sized hula hoop thing made me laugh, and I'm not sure why. Maybe I'll go buy one sometime and look like an idiot in my spare time...

And yeah, I know someone out there will be enraged, but at least I TRIED to see the different angles.
» Unicornasaurus on 2008-04-15 07:30:10

Completely understandable. You can't be without opinion, after all.
» Unicornasaurus on 2008-04-15 07:37:45

haha right on
and yea, i guess the signs aren't that good if bars are blocking them, wth.....
» CPKviperpheonix on 2008-04-15 08:15:36

The media just hopes to get a good scoop so that they would be able to sell more copies of their newspaper.
» Nuttz on 2008-04-15 10:11:12

Hmm. Perhaps. It seems logical that I might go through fruit-bar-withdrawal. :P
» randomjunk on 2008-04-15 11:01:27

I think you should throw your brownies at the medias' faces.

and yes, Dilated Jon. that jerk.

if I had known, I would have visited your family!

Haha, that might work if I actually liked the library. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the books and the random shit they've got stashed in there like the maps and the gov docs and everything else...but I hate how damn quiet it is. But I guess I'm starting to warm up to the idea because that would be, like, a savings of maybe $10k/year...

Re: Your Entry:

I completely echo your sentiments. I think I'm just sick of hearing about things like that, you know? Like how every single year AFTER 9/11 (here we go again with the dates) we're constantly reminded of what happened. I mean, no, we shouldn't forget about it--how could we ever forget something like that? I just feel insulted when people (or the media) actually TELL me to keep the memory of X, Y, and Z alive as though I were callous enough of a person to NOT remember that day. And besides... I don't think the best way to heal a wound is to keep picking off the scab so that you remember the pain. That's just dumb, literally and metaphorically. Because isn't the scar tissue enough? It seems so commonsense but crap like that is crammed down our throats anyway all freaking time.

WHATT???!!
The game killed your drivers? What kind of game does that? It's supposed to entertain you, not add entra work for you.

Naruto
is getting really interesting. I am watching the shippuuden series. It is good. Do you know of any other good anime? I'm kinda searching a database and there are so many, I just dont want to waste time downloading junk. I am looking for fruits basket but it is not on the site I am using. :(

As for my Apple, I first started off with an iPod then, bought a MAC with my computer loan money from a program at my job... and that started the whole Apple addiction!!!
» KKama67 on 2008-04-16 01:58:45

Sounds good
I'm going to try looking those anime up tomorrow while I am at work. It is one of the few things I get to do that make my breaks worth while! :)

As for the apple products... that is what makes getting a paycheck all the more fun!
