Back in Time for the Holidays
357th day of 2007
And we're back! And, what a painfully arduous journey it has been.

Foremost, and again, I apologize to all NuTang members and visitors of the downtime! Now, onto the excuse...

With my dumb luck, the morning I left for my long awaited two week business trek across Europe was the morning NuTang went down. The dark day? December 1st, 2007. That day, NuTang went down. And it went down hard... so hard, it made me fart.

Whilst trekking through the bitter cold European ice storms, being attacked from all fronts by bipolar polar bears and man-eaters, I could not find the time or energy to work on bringing NuTang back up. Concurrently, my host led an all out assault on my fellow comrades on the Island of Ishbu, thwarting their efforts, as well.

The tribulations of business work and NuTang's woeful combats took a toll on my sleeping habits. In fact, during the two weeks in Europe...
*I pulled 2 all-nighters
*Slept for 26 hrs over a weekend (from Saturday morning to Sunday evening)
*Stayed up for 26 hrs

With that said, I did have a great time in Europe. I learned the following fun facts about Europe...
*Stockholm, Sweden experiences no daylight, only fluctuations between night and dusk.
*Europe is expensive as shit (made out of solid gold)! I literally spent $30USD on one drink. In my 2 weeks, I racked up over $9,000 USD. My colleague, who stayed a half week longer, racked up $13,000 USD. (I have no idea how he pulled that off, though.)
*Extremely crappy shows, like MTV's The Hills, are dubbed in various European languages and broadcasted all day long on MTV Europe.
*MTV Europe plays dubbed episodes of The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and South Park.
*There's a probably a lot that escapes my mind or I don't feel like boring you further with.

I'm tired.

Dave, you are the master. I appreciate, as do most of us, I'm sure, the work you did to get this site back up and running. for that, I am greatful

I love you.

Dilated loves you.
Seriously man, we appreciate you sticking with us. It's pretty awesome that you run this whole site pretty much by yourself.

Dave
Perhaps you leaving for Europe and the haxing of your server was not a coincidence. I smell a conspiracy!

According to the information you gleaned from your travels, I have concluded this about Europe: only go if you have money in the bank and have a thorough fascination for ancient art forms.

Stevo does bring up a good point though. You are pretty much the mastermind behind everything that was, is, and will be Nutang, and for that I give mad props.

Bro, get some sleep!
At least you have one less thing to think about.

Thanks for reincarnating Nutang. :D

I wanna visit Stockholm...
» randomjunk on 2007-12-23 06:28:10

I only have one browser, and it's IE. Although I suppose that in itself could be the problem...
» randomjunk on 2007-12-23 08:03:00

Thanks so much dave!! This is the best Christmas gift I received this year. BTW, Stockholm sounds interesting for someone like me who don't really like the sun. Hope you'll have a nice time off. Merry Christmas!

You owe me $60.
» Bartholomew on 2007-12-24 02:20:03

Thanks for getting Nutang back up! I was scared that it hacked so bad that it couldn't be salvaged. Why couldn't they be nice and just do what the hackers did to Animanga and put "I hacked you p00n. SKS" on the home page? :(

Where the hell did you go? Does that include hotel costs because my mom went to Europe and it wasn't even close to that...
» Katrina on 2007-12-26 10:30:49

Yeah, Europe's really expensive.
Asia seems to be a lot cheaper, especially if you go for the knock-off stuff. Probably because most of everything is made there in the first place, so there's no middle-man.

I want to go traveling again. But it's so expensive...

Whoot!
Wow! You are awesome to be able to get NuTang back, stay up 26 hours straight, work a lot and manage multiple websites alone! Kudos to you! Thanks so much for working so hard to get NuTang back! ^.^
