SOHH GRANT:Rasheeda Got Me Wanting Her Bubble Gum. Plus, D12 Signs Decatur Artist KB
    Wednesday. 2.7.07 12:19 pm

Renowned rapper RASHEEDA has been satisfying the musical palates of hip hop heads for several years now and the musical fruits that she bears just seem to get better with time. Her hip hop highness has been cranking out spitfire, take-no-prisoner rap songs since the early 90s, back when she was barely a teenager herself and most of her peers were just shunning their pigtails and bobby socks.

Since that time, shes not only ruled supreme over the Crunk Kingdom but she has also established herself as one of the sexiest women in hip hop, unafraid to cut to the chase in her music and say what every woman wants to say and every man wants to hear.

I’m not sure if I like the song or not, but Rasheeda looks so damn good, who the hell cares!

D12 member and former Celebrity Fit Club contestant— Bizarre opened up recently. In this interview he talks about his new album, his new record label. He just signed Decatur artist KB and is currently working on his album due out later this year. Though Bizz is from Detroit, he has roots in ATL.

If you’re interested, check it out.

Forget Black History Month….Let’s Talk About Southern History Month!!
    Tuesday. 2.6.07 8:25 am

With it being February, and our annual Black History month, lots of people are talking about and commemorating the same people we do every year.

But what I thought was, instead of celebrating the traditional black pioneers for the advancement of black people. I’ve decided to post non-traditional black pioneers who’ve advanced southern Hip-Hop as a whole. This weeks artists needs no introduction what so ever. But, for those of you who don’t know. Let me school you a bit!

Goodie Mob, who was based in Atlanta, Georgia, is widely measured as one of the founding hip hop acts of the Dirty South movement. Members Cee-Lo (Thomas Callaway), Khujo Goodie (Willie Knighton, Jr.), T-Mo Goodie (Robert Barnett), and Big Gipp (Cameron Gipp) made up the group, which started back 1995.

"GOODIE MOb", as it's written on all their album covers, stands for "GOOD DIE Mostly Over bullshit". Cee-Lo notes in a song off the Soul Food album that, "[If] you take out one 'O' it stands for 'GOD Is Every Man Of blackness.' "

Cee-Lo was the most visible member of the group prior to his departure in 2000,

An original member of the groundbreaking Atlanta group Goodie Mob, Cee-Lo is an Atlanta native that has had a successful career as rapper, singer, producer, and songwriter. Having worked on projects with everyone from Carlos Santana to The Pussycat Dolls, Cee-Lo hit it big again in 2006 while being part of Gnarls Barkley, collaboration with DJ Danger Mouse.

Cee-Lo has such a unique personality that he’s got several names he goes by. To many, he’s known as just Cee-Lo, but to his die hard fans, fellow industry associates, fans, and family—he goes by: Cee-Lo Green, Suga Baby, Eldorado Lo, Ralo Eight, Lorilla, Cee-Lo Sinatra, HenniCee-Lo, Car Belly, Lil' Buddah, and we cant forget the Cookie Monster.
I’m going to shout out the most prominent, and pioneering southern rapper(s) throughout this entire month, so be sure to show your luv!

    See Y'all lata,

Jimmy Cozier Is Ballin' Jim Jones Style
    Tuesday. 2.6.07 2:58 pm
Y'all Jimmy Cozier. He was one of the first artists signed to J Records back in the day.

It was him and Olivia (before she went G Unit on ya ass!).

Peep his video for "She's All I Got."

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gUHa4wKFZU

That shit was pretty slick. But what wasn't so slick was his departure from the label. I am suppose to talk Jimmy this week to hear all about what it's really like working with music empresario Clive Davis, what he's been doing since then and what he is contributing to the forthcoming Mya album.

Of course Jimmy is dropping his own album. As dope as he is known to be behind the scenes, I am sure he saved some of that crack for his own project. It's called Perfect Timing, and features appearances from Olivia, Alicia Keys and Keyshia Cole.

The first single is "U Got Them Goods" featuring Jim Jones ((((BALLIN'!!!!))))

    Get it here.

    So what say you....

Put this up against what you like in R&B and what you expect from an artist with his experience and answer this....
"U Got Them Goods" featuring Jim Jones....

    RUSH IT or FLUSH IT?

SOHH Exclusive: Foxy Brown Is Broke, Says Accuser, But May Pay Up In Court
    Thursday. 9.21.06 3:26 pm

Wednesday - September 20, 2006 by Carl Chery
    Foxy Brown

Nearly two years after being accused of robbing Foxy Brown, designer Tanya Manderson quietly won a false arrest and defamation judgment against the rapper when Fox defaulted on the case. She now says the rapper is broke but plans to make her pay in court.

"From what I understand, she really doesn't have any money. Her finances aren't in great shape. Apparently there was some attempt to have insurance pay claims or something like that," Manderson told SOHH regarding Foxy's attempt to settle. "I think she fired [her lawyer] or he left, so he was no longer representing her and we never heard from her, so we just won a judgment against her."[View the court documents Page 1 & Page 2]

"She defaulted," Steve Krawitz, Manderson's lawyer, explained. "I have to collect money from her, but I don't know how to do that."

Manderson is suing Foxy (born Inga Marchand) for libel and defamation of character after a grand jury exonerated her of robbing Foxy at New York's Show Night Club back in October of 2004. Manderson was initially charged with third degree robbery, grand larceny and possession of stolen property, but cleared in March of 2005.

"Basically, the story never stood in court. It went to a grand jury and [they] found that she wasn't credible," Manderson revealed. "And they threw out the case and I was cleared. It never came out that I was cleared."

According to Manderson, Foxy, accompanied by a Show Night Club bouncer, walked into the bathroom and picked a fight with her. Manderson said she defended herself before she was thrown out the door. Interestingly, Manderson says she never met Fox before the night of the incident.

"I know for a fact that she's a habitual liar because she lied about me. From my personal experience, I would have to say she's unstable," Manderson opined. "Two days before my case went to the grand jury she got arrested for the Nail Salon incident, which she pled guilty to. Nothing that I hear surprises me."

According to court documents, Manderson claims that Foxy "made false accusations" about her which were "published by the local media and were defamatory to her causing her damages." In addition to Foxy and her Black Roses Entertainment, Manderson has also named others in the lawsuit including Russell Simmons' Rush Communications, Def Jam Music Inc, celebrity publicist Marvette Britto's Britto Agency, The Show Night Club and the bouncer.

A hearing is soon to be scheduled to determine what damages, if any, Manderson has sustained. Manderson hopes to get at least $1 million out of the settlement.

"She may or may not be broke," says Manhattan-based attorney, Mark Samuel regarding Manderson's assertion about Foxy's finances. "Her failure to respond to Manderson's complaint does not mean that she could not afford an attorney. It is difficult to speculate on why she did not respond. Nonetheless, assuming the default judgment is not vacated by the court, the hearing after the trial will determine what damages she may owe Manderson."

Foxy Brown's reps could not be reached for comment at press time.

Khia Calls Trina A "Fake Bitch,"
    Thursday. 9.21.06 3:30 pm

In this week's Pulse Report, the streets are buzzing about Khia firing back at Trina, Three Six Mafia invading Hollywood, Cassie's rapper report card and Jay-Z addressing sweat shop rumors.

    1. Khia strikes back. Only days after being dissed by Trina on "What's Beef," Khia has fired back with "Hit Her Up." Interestingly, both femcees have borrowed from two previously feuding and unfortunately late emcees for their latest dis records. While Trina took from Biggie's "What's Beef," the Thug Misses opted to be the umpteenth rapper to recycle Tupac Shakur's "Hit Em Up." "Fake bitch if you was real you would have said my name/but I'm calling you a hoe and I'm saying it to your face/keep it real punk hoe, the hood already know/that's why they fuck you in the ass, let a hoe be a hoe/Trick should have warned you not to open your mouth/but Slip-N-Slide been begging me to fill up your spot," Khia charged. Fortunately, this one is sure to stay on wax. Khia and Trina were both at the Ozone Awards and no altercation took place.

Three 6 Mafia Collabo With Rocky,
    Thursday. 9.21.06 3:33 pm
    2. Three Six Mafia takes over Hollywood. Everybody and their momma wants a piece of Three Six Mafia nowadays. Interestingly, half of them probably didn't know who the Memphis powerhouse was prior to them winning an Oscar. Tinstletown is sure to see a whole lot of DJ Paul and Juicy J in the coming months. "I ain't doing no stunt. We just playing tricks on the 'Jackass' guys. I can't tell what we doing, but we playing tricks, some funny stuff. But no, I ain't doing nothing dangerous on my part," Paul told The Village Voice's "Status Ain't Hood." The duo made an appearance on the forthcoming Jackass 2 movie and also recorded a rock a song for the flick. Also look for two Three Six songs in the upcoming Rocky flick, a cameo with Paris Hilton on "The Simple Life" and a brief appearance on HBO's "Entourage."
