So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Big poor kids, too... the boxes went all the way up to age 18. It was interesting to me to see what the big kids got... one person had made a male-oriented box with a nice hat and scarf and then a very handsome leather pouch with Bulgari cologne. I was thinking that only in France would that be a necessary accessory for a teenage boy. I was in charge of wrapping boxes that hadn't been wrapped or that had been wrapped incorrectly. The whole side of the church was overflowing with gifts. I really felt like one of Santa's elves for a couple of hours. I also got to interact with the American Boy Scouts, which was pretty fun. The Scout leader was careful to take each boy aside during the afternoon and talk to him individually about his life and his goals and his accomplishments. I think I'd like to be in that kind of role some day. I think I'd also like to find a guy who liked to be in that kind of role. I guess most guys my age don't really have it together yet for themselves, which makes it difficult for them to mentor others. But on the flip side, I think mentoring others often helps you figure out your own priorities. 8 Comments. Nope only make about 1100-1200 so I'll have just enough to get by, and not much more. » hiddenagenda on 2012-12-05 07:31:36 Did you ever participate in Operation Christmas Child in the US? It sounds very similar to what you're doing with Boxes of Love. re: That's so ethically unsteady that I probably wouldn't even consider it an option...it's unfortunate, though, because you know that medication would probably help and they would probably be glad to be what we consider functional, but to get those results we would have to force. Agh. » Unicornasaurus on 2012-12-05 11:16:39 Poor guys need to smell suave too, I guess. Seriously though that's so random. XD » randomjunk on 2012-12-05 10:43:00 u r a guy??? i thought u r a female!!! » renaye on 2012-12-06 10:50:23 re: Eugh. It wasn't just the homeless population, either. They've estimated that forty thousand people in the U.S. were lobotomized before our government decided to intervene. » Unicornasaurus on 2012-12-06 11:18:48 HAHA HEY BRO » middaymoon on 2012-12-06 09:17:56 Not really, I saw (possibly a) perfume on the "wishlist" of one of the orphanages that my friend's family is doing a Christmas charity drive for. » Nuttz on 2012-12-07 05:34:02 right. my eyes must be tired that i didn't read well. oh, by the way ... i found out that love comes in unexpected moments ... so i don't time anymore when i will find love... » renaye on 2012-12-07 08:58:08
