So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Friday. 8.26.11 11:39 pm No, I didn't have a dream and a cardigan, if that's what you were expecting. But I did have a suit coat and a mission. I had to get a french visa. You might think that it would be possible to get a french visa over the phone, or through the mail, considering that I live in COLORADO, and the consulate in Los Angeles isn't exactly "convenient". In fact, it is about 1000 miles away. But non, you must make a personal appearance, so oui, I showed up at the consulate all turned out for my appointment, ready to go to the mat to argue and demand and exige (excuse my french) that they let me leave when I intended to leave. I'm not very good at that. I tend to be nice to people as a kind of a knee-jerk reaction. As it turned out, it wasn't necessary. The car rental place hooked me up with a brand new red camaro convertible (merci, french government?), I stayed with my good buddy Rhodes at Caltech, and when I arrived at the consulate they told me that everything was in order and that it would be no problem to have my visa to me on time. So basically I spent a day cruising down Santa Monica boulevard getting a sunburn with the top down on my Chevy Camaro and when I woke up in Denver the next day, the FedEx truck showed up with my visa. Now that the hard stuff is out of the way, all I have to do is move to France. Thursday. I guess I should find an apartment. 5 Comments. Gaaaaah your life is rather optimal at the moment, eh?? Look at you go, Zanzi. Got yourself a sharkboy and a red freaking Camaro...and MOVING to France?? For how long? I feel so out of touch ... » The-Muffin-Man on 2011-08-27 01:34:06 Merci French government is right!!! You gotta sweet ride! And your really moving to France?? I would love to visit my peeps one day lol. Don't tell them your american! I hear they don't like us.. » Midnight on 2011-08-27 11:52:06 Congrats!! It sounds so nice for everything to fall in place so nicely! I'm starting to be jealous of you too (usually, I only get it with Muffy)!! Anyway, I have no idea what exige mean but I'm guessing it is a slang of some sort =/ Good luck with apartment hunting! If what I read from Stephen Clarke's books are true, it might be a tiny bump in your otherwise smooth road. » Nuttz on 2011-08-27 12:58:20 I could go to France. It would be a nice escape. Don't remember any of my French from high school, though lol. You have such an exciting journey ahead of you. Just don't forget about us! » LostSoul13 on 2011-08-28 03:31:17 Thanks for the advice :) I'm acctually choking on my words right now though because he took me on an AMAZING date last night. I feel bad for thinking the way I was. » Midnight on 2011-08-28 02:51:49
