So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

It was very cute and romantic, and my roommate was delighted to keep discovering new eggs in the strangest places. Inside our oven mitts, inside the vegetable-drawer in the fridge, above the doors, under cups, in the lamp (we luckily discovered that one before it melted all over the light bulb). When she found them she usually just put them back so that she could rediscover them again and again over time. Every corner of the apartment reminded us of him. Amusingly, some of the eggs were in places that she would obviously never look--- after all, my roommate very seldom has use for oven mitts and doesn't like vegetables. My roommate and her boyfriend subsequently broke up. She went around and retrieved all the eggs from every corner of our apartment and threw them away. Today I ran out of pasta and I was rooting through my food cupboards to find another box. I found a half-empty one way at the back and poured out the pasta. Two chocolate eggs were at the bottom. I am glad my roommate doesn't eat spaghetti. 3 Comments. :( But for some reason this scenario has a kind of funny irony to it, like something you'd see in the script of romantic comedy. Also, I crept (so strange to use that tense of the word "creeping") on your profile and I enjoy the diversity of your musical taste. Just sayin' » The-Muffin-Man on 2010-05-29 04:32:54 Not to be outdone, I also crept onto your profile and did not enjoy the diversity of your musical taste-- I found it to be lacking in Texas folklore songs. Might I suggest some George Straight, Chamillionaire and Paul Wall, or Pantera? Anyhoo, chocolate is for the birds. » Dilated on 2010-05-29 07:28:00 I was worried this was going to be a story about finding a terribly rotted egg somewhere and being horrified, but thankfully it wasn't. :D » randomjunk on 2010-05-29 09:46:18
