Secondly, it sucks how that went down, but you're right, it could've been a lot worse. :/ He'll probably come to accept it more with time... That seems to be how these things work out.

I'm glad things are starting to look up, even if just a little. I know how you feel about lack of family closeness ... I thought my sister might be the same person that I knew before she became wife and mother, but I didn't get a thank you for the gift I sent. after I texted her asking if she got it, she said, "yeah, sorry. spaced about texting you" haha, I was about to go off on a rant about my family. I'll end the comment here before this becomes a full entry lol. I am happy for you, though.
