Sleep..
Tuesday. 2.12.08 8:26 pm
Many of you may be wondering why am I here whle I'm supposed to be in class right now. This is because the whole class was allowed to use the rest of the class time to do research for our assignment. I didn't go to the library, I headed home instead. I think the A/C in the library would just make my cold/sickness/ whatever that's been plaguing me worst. The A/C is really really cold. I think I won't even be able to breath if I were to go there. Anyway, sleep.. yes, I've been sleeping a lot but I wake up in intervals for some unknown reason. I'll just wake up and feel wide awake. I tried to sleep from 5PM to the next morning 7AM, knowing that sleeping that long would help me get well faster, guess how many times I wake up? 10. Twice feeling like I'm going to die of suffocation and I'm damn sure that it's because of this damn cold I have.

I realised, after reading ranors entry that Ive been having tonnes of dreams which often leaves me in confusion or me forcing myself to wake up. Once I felt as if I was drowning and I was very sure that it was a dream, I kept telling myself to open my eyes, I tried opening my eyes but they were as if glued shut. The latest dream which I remembered felt happy was sometime last week and it was ages since I felt happy while I was dreaming. Am I subconsciously feeling miserable? Or is it because Im worrying too much for my future? I dont know Im as confused as my dreams make me feel.

I hate not being able to wake up feeling happy and well rested. I don't like the fact that I've been thinking of skipping class everytime I wake up nowadays. I hate the fact that I have to wake up sometime in the middle of the night for some unknown reason and I hate it even more when I force myself to wake up because I feel like I'm suffocating. I should go to sleep till my next class. Sweet dreams everyone!

Hugs To: lazypuppy, LostSoul13, ranor and renaye.

A few thoughts...
1) I think you made the right choice to go home and rest. If you think about it, trying to coherently research something or do work while sick is crap. Sometimes, it's worth it to feel a little better before heading out to do your work because then you'd be more efficient. That's what I tell myself, anyway.

2) You should start a dream journal or blog (either public or private). Writing down your dreams can be a way to think about them and try to sort them out. In the very least, doing so will give you something interesting to write (and later re-read).

3) Whenever I get really tired--not just in general, but also when I get tired of routines (which is...a LOT)--I start thinking about just saying "Screw it!" to the rest of the day when I wake up. For some people, routines work. For others (like me), routines are the most boring things on earth and they make me want to kill myself sometimes because it feels like I'm not in control of my life--my responsibilities are the ones in control.

That's why sometimes I just have to take a personal break. Maybe a break from the routine somehow. Go someplace new for lunch. Take a new route to school/work. Even outright skipping a class to watch a movie or something like that. Can't be responsible ALL the time... right?

4) Last thing, I swear. The feeling of suffocation and jolting awake at night because of it: there's actually a medical condition called sleep apnea where basically your body fails to automatically breathe for a little bit while you're asleep. If you feel like you can't breathe when you're sleeping quite often, it might be worth it to go to a doctor to check it out.

Phew. That was a lot of writing.

I agree with ranor, if you keep waking up feeling like you're sufficating, I'd get it checked out. I had a friend at my old job who had sleep apnea. in a 4 hour period of time, she stopped breathing over 100 times. and it's good to rest when you feel sick. I know that I don't always do that, but that's what makes it take so long to get better.

haha... ranor's reply is really long!!

for me, i'm trying to convert my dreams into stories. geez.. sounds like i got no more storylines to write but what the heck.. i got one kinda sad and it's sad because i have already got the ending for it. bwahahhaa...

renaye has gone crazy because of the upcoming treasure hunt.

What??
You're still sick? It's been close to a month now hasn't it? That's way too long for your average cold, unless you've been repeatedly getting sick within that timeframe...

Yeah yeah, I'm like you, I just remember the emotions and people of the dream and not so much the visual.

Just out of curiousity...how far spaced are your classes between one another?

I hope you start to feel better soon! I do not blame you at all for going home...I'd go home too!

(So sorry, I just don't have time to read your entry! Gomene~) Yay! You're the only one to say so. ;_; So now I'm doubting myself...just a little bit. Do you think I should get it in a different color? I have seven days for exchange/store credit. ;) Thanks!

T^T
I hope you feel better really, really soon Nuttz! I'm sorry you're not feeling well...take care of yourself, aye?

Ugh. I hate having bad dreams like that. They totally suck...But stay home and get a lot of rest! Rest is good

Hmm...Try waking up to every morning as if it were on purpose. =) But it must be hard to start the day when you are feeling ill...maybe when you get better everything will be radical! Then getting up in the morning and going to class will be much easier.

Take care, alright? Get well soon!
