Consideration
Sunday. 3.25.07 3:14 am
I live in an apartment building that has an alley which separates us from another apartment building. Both buildings are separate and owned by two different owners. Every night for the past 4 nights someone has been blastin their radio and playing loud cumbia music. It is always from 11pm - beyond midnight. If I didnt have my muscle relaxers to make me drowsey that music would really be bothering me. I dont know why the people in THAT building dont complain to the apt manager to have them turn that shit off! It is really loud!

Tonight my older son came into my room and stood in my doorway. I was like, "what?" He said I was just wondering if you could hear the music. I was like, "yeah. It is loud enough". So I finally call the police. I just so happen to have the local police number in my cell phone. Ha ha. So I give the guy my name and he says, "Are you hawaiian?" I was like yeah. I never got his name but I gave him two names of people at his department and he knew both of them! So instead of just one police car showing up, there were two. ha ha.

The music is finally off and now it is quiet. I mean it is common sense. It is after 11pm why cant they just figure it out on their own. No consideration!

People are stupid like that. :/

It's ridiculous how many people's parents never taught them that living in dorms/apartments means being considerate of other people.

I've never complained about my neighbor's loud music, but enough other people obviously have cuz it hasn't happened in a week or so. Oh well. At least now I can hear my own TV over their bass.
I wish people in apts were more considerate of those around them than momst actually are

Not sure where you live, but we have laws about that here. Anything "excessive" after 10 pm and it's shut down so no one ever does it without asking their neighbor's permission first, like an party at your house/apartment or construction.

I love the fact our apartment is on story and we only have one neighbor that shares a wall which is conncested to their living room/kitchen/dinning room/laundry spot. I always make sure to never do laundry later then 9 pm since it's kind of loud, at least to me, and they have a kid and I'm not sure if they can tell when I do laundry. I know she's a stay at home mom so I'm not sure if she does hers during the day..we have the same washer/dryer. XD Oddly enough the family is pretty quiet, I was afraid they would be really loud.

I had downstair neighbors like that.
They were my downstairs neighbors.

I'm not the type to put up with it.
I let it slide the first two times it happened.

On the third one I blasted MY music into the vent that led downt to THEIR apartment, which was hard rock, just to contrast their crappy TEJANO (how I DETEST that form of "music").
Then in the morning when I had to wake up (which they all obviously didn't because they had been partying the night before) I stopped around alot and made as much noise as possible, and AGAIN blasted music.

I think I did that one other time and then they quickly stopped.

My mom kept telling me not to do that. I've always had a hard time following what my mom asks of me.

I think you're right about the whole "diagnosing yourself" thing. I'm sure if I had figured out that they were testing me for leukemia before my tests came back negative, that I would have worried and suffered quite needlessly. I'm glad that you're finally getting the help you need for your leg.

Consideration
When we were renters, we always just called the cops. We always got a copy of the police report and sent it to our landlord. After a month or so, they were kicked out of the building and that was that.

Give that a go!

bad neighbors
LOL I saw that you left a comment on one of my husbands sites so I came here for a visit. Thanks for the link in your sidebar BTW. :) Funny ... my comment is right under his.

I was going to say that we had a lot of problems with neighbors playing loud music and we finally gave in and called the police too. Got to be a habit after a while. Chris was very good about getting the policeman's name and the report number. We'd always give the report number, if not a copy of the report (for a very bad case) to the landlord.

We had a neighbor who let their dogs out on the balcony all winter long to do their business. This person lived two or three floors above us. In the spring when the snow melted and the rain came it was just disgusting. Our balcony was contaminated and just stunk! I know we got a copy of the police report on that one. I think we even called the health department!

Wow, it's really hard to comment on your site. This will be my 4th try! The baboons don't like me?
