Too Much Bread Raises Kidney Cancer Risk

Just as the final nail is being pounded into the coffin of the low-carb diet craze, a new study suggests that there may be important benefits to limiting refined carbohydrate intake. Published in the International Journal of Cancer, the study by Italian researchers warns of a link between high consumption of cereals, breads and other refined carbs and the risk of developing kidney cancer. Researchers monitored more than 2,000 patients over the course of two years, concluding that those with the highest bread and cereal consumption were a stunning 94% more likely to be diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma, the most common kidney cancer. A diet high in pasta and rice also raised the risk of kidney cancer by 29%.

What This Means for You
Meanwhile, stocking up on vegetables and lean meats such as poultry was associated with a one-third lower risk of kidney cancer. Doctors recommended limiting your intake of refined carbs and replacing them with breads and cereals made from whole grains.

Have you noticed how everything raises high risk for something? Pretty soon we'll have nothing to eat, but...water? Oy yai yai.

Isn't it sad
How if anyone else's health is risked or something is taken from them they grow very concerned, but as far other people's troubles, they care very little?

I agree
One of my many frustrations here. Also why I've had a difficulty with college and this whole "american dream". I've often thought about moving somewhere else. No idea where, but somewhere else.
P.S. It's also like that with Mexican culture. However, it's more of a "looking out for me and my own" type of thing. They don't just advance themselves but their family. Everyone else can just go to hell. But I think it's because of the intense poverty that is impending or they are already in.

Mine used to be "Victory through persistence", but through things that have happened, I've let too many good characteristics of mine slip by. Wish I hadn't. Maybe in time I will take up that motto again.
