I've gotten fat, and I'm tired of it.

Time to get back to task and exercise/all of that good stuff.

I tried making mochi #2. It was cherry/chocolate flavored... or supposed to be.
It came out lumpy. :/

Didn't work out too well, oh well.

I still have more stuff to try with. *nod*

My fly is open. I wonder how long it's been like that.

So I bought some botan rice candy at the great satan. It was 56 cents, how could I refuse?

The tattoos that came with it? A kanji for "truth" and a US Marines anchor/eagle.



So I went and tried the mochi after it'd been sitting for a while, it's actually quite tasty.

I'm proud of myself.

I made the mochi.

I couldn't find the adzuki for the inside, but I know where to get some.

I decided to make it purple and cinnamon flavored.

It's ok, except half of the cinnamon oil fell in. :/

On top of that, I managed to botch the directions... and mixed everything together at once.

This is what happens when you think of 7 things at once. :/

Yay engineering.

So. Again, I'm starting a post with "So.".


I've been perusing teh intarwebnets for recipes and instructions for how to make daifuku mochi.

There's a problem. Almost all of the recipies are different!!!

This one says use 1.5C water/mochiko, .5C sugar, and some Potato starch.

This one says .25C sugar.

This one says 2.5C sugar, 12oz coconut milk, 1.75C water, and cornstarch!

This one says 2.5C water, 1C sugar!

This one says 2 cups mochiko, 1-1.5C sugar, 2.25C water, and corn/tapioca starch!

What to do, what to do.

I'd like to try adding different flavorings to it... Maybe I could put a bullion cube in the water/sugar mixture... Ewwww.

Peach, lemon, cherry, almond, cinnamon, hazelnut, and orange sound like they might be fun to try.

I've got to make yomogi ones, though. Yum.

Yay Voting! And Cake!

So. I've noticed that the internet as a whole doesn't think too highly of me.

How sad. They could at least leave a comment to tell me why.


I went with Dave to vote yesterday.

The Democrats gave us a sheet of paper with all the answers on it. It's nice to be told who to vote for, it takes the stress out of it for me. :p

BTW, I didn't vote. I'm an awful American.

I'm "done" with my projects, so I'm going to head out and buy things to make my mochi.

I want to make a cake and cover it in fondant as well. I was sitting back and reminiscing the intarwebs, and the Mario Wedding Cake reminded me that I wanted to make a shiny smooth cake.

I think Wally's sells fondant in their arts/crafts section.

I look at cakes like this one and this one I'd only be making a single layer cake, though.

Hahaha, bootleg Hello Kitty cake!

Fondant would be good for making a katamari cake, but I'd have to get the Betty Crocker Dome Pan.
